Perhaps the best one-hour drama on TV in the last decade.
Forget that it has "Stargate" in the name. Forget even that it's science fiction. This show is perhaps the best-produced and best-acted one-hour drama in the last decade.
When will the SGA fanboys shut up?
This Show is probably the best thing to happen to Stargate since Todd and Michael. Sure, you want Atlantis back, so do I. But to be honest, I was getting bored with the same old episodic crap week in and week out. SGU is stargate for adults. Now there is less action, but how many times are you going to see the extras get killed? Seriously. This has much better acting, much better stories, and it requires some thinking.
SGU is what Voyager should have been. I've played this show to a few friends of mine that did not like the other stargate programs, and they are now hooked.
This show has amazing music, movie quality effects, incredible acting, and has so much intrigue, I am sitting on the end of my chair every time I watch it... Well maybe except for last season's pain. But even the filler episodes are good.
I highly recommend this show.
Finally
While I liked SG-1 and Alantis, this is much better in so many aspects. SG-1 felt like a cheesey 70's sci-fi movie at times. This feels the next generation. I keep hearing comparisions to BSG, but I fail to see that as a bad thing.
