A really helpful app..!

I’ve quite a few indoor plants plus several, including a lemon tree, indoors avoiding the UK winter. The app didn’t have specific info for citrus plants but after writing to the app developers to ask for help they wrote brand new info for lemon trees! It’s proved really helpful, the tree is in full bloom, and I’m now confident that I’m doing the right things to guarantee a good crop of lemons later on in the year...

Super Easy, Wildly Inaccurate

The only thing you’re achieving by pointing the lens toward the foliage, is a very inaccurate measurement of how much light is bouncing away from the leaves. You definitely need to be measuring the light from the source direction. Plants don’t look at other plants to see how bright they are, they grow toward the sun.

Example - super bright all day room from S facing window registers as low light. Checking this against hardware and other sources says the total opposite. According to this app I might be able to grow snake plant. In actuality I can grow everything that requires full sun.

This is simple and too easy to use and probably designed for people of the same suit. I would recommend to anyone slightly interested in looking after their plants to do a little research and do things properly. Don’t waste your moolah!

Exactly what I was looking for

All the other light meter apps were far too complicated and didn’t give me clear, simple measures of light levels. I tried several out before finding this, and this app is exactly what I wanted, it’s super easy to use and has massively helped me in understanding where best to place my plants to get the best light. Very pleased!
