Do not use this service
Bought an Xbox one through this service on thanksgiving day. That evening I received an email that the order could not be processed due to wrong credit info. Logged onto the app immediately and corrected the issue. The email had said that when the issue was corrected Groupon would rerun my order. The next day at noon the item sold out so I called customer service to check on my order. I was told that they had not rerun my order and now that it was sold out there was nothing that they could do for me. I then asked to speak to that man's supervisor. She got on the phone and told me there was nothing they could do and it was not their problem. I asked to speak to someone that could help me. I was transferred back to someone in the US. She told me that I should just buy the other Xbox on their site. That unit was $80 more expensive and the reason I was buying the less expensive unit. The "supervisor" said she would try and get me the other unit for the same price. She got back on and stayed there was nothing they could do even though this was a mistake on their end.
In my business which is sales as well we would have given the other unit and eaten the cost difference ourselves. I told the lady this and she said they would not do it. I informed her that she was losing a customer and I would never shop there again. I advise everyone to do the same.
I tried using this app for Christmas shopping. Terrible idea. I ordered a tv. It was pending for 10 days. On the eighth day I sent them a message asking what was happening as I also ordered a wall mount . I got no response. On the 10th day my order was canceled with no notice given to me. I asked customer support what was going on and they claimed it was my payment information. This is the same payment information used to successfully order a wall mount. I followed the instructions from customer service, and they said "ok try to order it again". What? I already told them I ordered it 10 days ago! Obviously it was gone, sold out. Couldn't do anything for me, couldn't even cancel the wall mount I clearly don't need anymore. Don't order anything you might need or you might not get it.
P.S. I was also told by customer support they would send my complaint to another department that would email me within 72 hours. Never received an email. Don't use this company if you expect any level of customer support.
Not what it used to be
I used to use Groupon all the time and opted to use it again recently for Christmas shopping. I ordered the Fitbit Surge in the size and color I wanted. A day later I received an email that my card had expired and for me to update the account info and they would charge it again in a day. I followed instructions and updated my card. 6 days late I randomly decided to check my orders and saw that the item was refunded without notice. After having to call customer service twice, all I received was a $15 credit and was told to order the item in a different color. If I wanted the item in a different color then that is what I would have ordered in the first place. Customer service reps need training hence why I had to call twice. I'll certainly think twice before making another purchase and will not hesitate to share my terrible experience with friends and colleagues. Do better Groupon.
