Needs Improvement

I have no complaints with connectivity... I have great service provider to thank for that! And I haven't had to reset my password or anything like that, so this is good! CTA (bus and train) estimates are pretty accurate, which is a major plus! I also love how I can add value to my card via app, and not have to physically go up to a ventra box, this makes my commute so much easier. Especially when I'm running behind schedule.
My troubles come in with the PACE buses. The tracking isn't accurate at all. In fact, it's set and stone with the times. It'd be much better if it was tracked by GPS, similar to the CTA. (Ex. There's a stop at my job scheduled for 5:36 - EVERYDAY, EVERYTIME I check it around 5pm it says the same thing) and the bus is RARELY there at 5:36. Usually within ten minutes before or after.
Secondly, I have a card that I can't register on this app, apparently because it's registered somewhere else. It'd be nice to register the same card on multiple accounts for shared users.

Great app when It works

So i’d used this app many times to buy metra tickets as I commute to and from chicago often, I’m a student at depaul and wanted to register my ventra card with the app so I could add money to the card for the winter break (when depaul turns off the free ventra rides) after registering the card, The app wouldn’t open at all, so I redownloaded it and after logging in again, the app deleted all my saved metra tickets, and still didn’t show that the ventra card was registered, even after trying to register the card again, the app said “this card has already been registered” and yet still the app shows no registered ventra card, and literally deleted all the metra tickets I’d already spent my money on, I strongly STRONGLY recommend being very cautious while using this app, as any wrong move and they’ll take away tickets you already spent your money on, or better yet, DON’T GET THIS TERRIBLE APP

Not What I Thought

New To the Brand

Originally I downloaded Ventra because I was looking for a good app to check nutrition information for local restaurants. I don’t even know if Ventra provides this information. If it does, the developers made it very hard to find.

Those complaints aside, the app is pretty good at taking payment for train rides. It also holds train schedules and alerts you if they are running late.

So, if you are looking for calories or carb content on local foods, I would try another app. But if you need to pay for train tickets, Ventra is better than any other app on my phone. I’ve literally tried them all, and hands down, Ventra is the only one the conductors will accept.
