This makes no sense

I've been using Yahoo messenger for ten years now, and I've only seen it get worse instead of better. First was on the computer when the archives were tampered with. It went from being easy to find a day's conversation to having to guess what keyword I need to use to see a glimpse of what was said without going into my email. I used to be able to access messenger just fine on my phone, until Yahoo did something stupid.. And took away the web version for me. Now I'm forced to download this app just to talk to my friends and family when I can't have access to a laptop. I hate using this app because I have to send multiple times, and my friends do as well, for it to finally appear in my feed! Why?? It's not the Internet. I've tried 4G and personal wifi. My friend has the same issues with his yahoo app. There are no colors, no bold or italics, nothing that makes it unique or worthwhile. I was surprised to see it asking for my phone number. You don't need that information. Setting up the app was initially confusing, as I was somehow using my "phone" account instead of my actual yahoo account. I shouldn't have had to look up a guide on how to use a messenger service! Please work on your app to make it much less of a hassle to use if you're going to force phone users to download this.

My Contacts were my Lifeline!

I like change most of the time. Technology changes typically excite me. The change from the old yahoo messenger to the new one has had the absolute opposite effect… It's been devastatingly disappointing. I downloaded it, searched for all of my friends that used to be there and all of my conversations that I had so meticulously saved… They weren't there. Certain that it had to be some simple switch that I hadn't got flicked on, I researched this only to find that it seems that my friends and my history actually really are gone forever. Some of those people are no longer alive… those conversations can't be reproduced or re-created… Once they're deleted they're gone, like the person. I kept this app on my phone for about five minutes, and I was just almost physically sick knowing what was lost.I deleted the app and it will remain off my phone until someone tells me that Yahoo is putting all that was lost...back where it belongs. I've been a YM user pretty much since it's inception. Not all conversations have the same value, but those that were irreplaceable will leave a hole in my heart.

Update? Right - Here is my update on the update

Mmm923

Notifications - oh they dont work
Contacts - If you think I am going to load all my contacts again you are out of your mind - if you think I am going to give you my contacts - again you are out of your mind - cell number? Right... Still being asked to "Accept" someone I have been contacts with for years - little dumb dont you think?
No Mac OS X App and you are cutting off Adium and Trillian - I will never log into my yahoo mail on a work computer - thats my business and doesnt get opened on a work machine.
Message Delivery - Far from "Instant" messages - the delay is ridiculous - sitting right next to the dude I message from my phone and he gets it on his "Yahoo Email" but its delayed by several minutes - fix this or it might be quicker for me to dust off my fax machine. Using an Instant Message app can be a tremendous communication tool when training people while they are on the phone - This APP is GARBAGE. Talk about alienating a huge business user base. Yahoo is going the way of BlackBerry I guess...
