Current is the debit card and app made for teens (and parents). It is a smart and convenient way to give teens allowance and reward chores without having to run to the ATM for cash. And it has tools to help teens become smart spenders, including savings goals, round-up savings, and the ability to check your balance. Current gives teens all the tools they need to learn how to budget money and start the journey to financial responsibility.

Parents get visibility into their teens spending with real-time alerts that show where transactions are happening, providing peace of mind and the information they need to help their teens make good spending decisions. Current is easy to setup and works with your existing bank. If you like the ease convenience of online banking and bill pay, you will love using Current for your family.

I got two cards for my niece and nephew as a Christmas gift. I did it as a way to send them a little money each month for allowance to help my sister out while she was going to school.

My sister was also able to add herself as a parent. It took a little bit of time because the security feature for adding another adult to the count was a part of the process. I’d choose security over convenience any day.

I was surprised by the fact that the
kids actually watch their money and spending habits better with the card then when they had cash in hand.

My sister actually loves it more than the kids do and she tells everybody about it. The cards gives peace of mind because you can easily transfer the money in an emergency or transfer money out.

You’re able to view all the spending that goes in and out of the kids accounts. They also realized for the first time that when you use cards or checks or other items of payment there is an actual connection to real money. These items don’t offer unlimited access to money sources.

They both have become pretty frugal since getting the cards. When they go out to dinner with their friends, they order water or off the children’s menu sometimes if they’re not very hungry. Even more importantly they started paying attention to the cost of what they choose from the menu when they’re out with their mom or dad or grandparents who are on a limited budget.

Not pleased at all!!!

I was so excited to get this cc for my 12 year old for Christmas and it took over a month for it to come. So I did not get to use it for the 30 days and was still charged a $36 fee. I asked if it could be waived and the answer was no. Then there was a glitch with a payment where I tried to stop a payment on currents end it was showing it wasn’t there then the next thing I know I had to have my bank put the money back and was charged a overdraft fee 😡. The lady I emailed was not helpful and just said next time take a screenshot . Well Idid do that And it still showed safari could not open the page because the address is invalid I was looking around to see if there was another company similar. Not very pleased with current. Then I was given $50 because of the hassle of everything which was a nice gesture but my son still is not able to use this card. Now I have to have another bank added to my account so needless to say I’m going to withdraw the money and get my son another credit card cause it’s not that serious!!!

Great App for teens

Well, first of all, it is impossible in our state to get a debt card from any bank or local credit union for anyone under the age of 18. I love this app for its ability to teach our teens how to earn, save, and spend money. At first, I didn't understand that by transferring money into your primary account you are able to transfer monies quickly towards completed chores. However, if you transfer each chore from your bank account ACH payments will take approximately 2 days. I had no problems with the service line regarding questions or concerns that I encountered. I like seeing what my children buy right away. Most importantly, our children love it and begin to develop a sense of "adulting" in a tech savvy way.
