STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics):
Exploration is at the core of the science experience in the MarcoPolo World School. The main objective is to promote the notion that knowledge can be gained through exploration of the world around us. The characters model curiosity consistent with the development of scientific literacy and practices of science (i.e. experimenting, making models, supporting claims with evidence). Our rich curriculum includes exploration of:

-Living vs. Nonliving*

-Holidays and Traditions
-Music and Arts
-Major Historical Events
-Famous Historical Figures
-Resources around the World
The MarcoPolo curriculum is designed to facilitate your child’s social-emotional development and create the framework and mental process that will later allow them to plan, make positive decisions, focus, multi-task, have self-control and establish healthy social connections. To do this, the learner:
-Interacts with diverse characters that model positive social behaviors
-Is encouraged by narrators using process-oriented speech
-Develops skills in short-term memory through various games

Ratings and Reviews
Love MarcoPolo so much!
My son has been using the other three MarcoPolo apps Ocean, Arctic, and Weather, and he really enjoys them and has already learned new things. He is only 2 years old, and so I am often hesitant about letting him use our devices, but when I discovered the MarcoPolo apps I changed my mind and set him up on an iPad that we weren’t using. The content of all the apps is great and we were all floored when he started telling us the he was going to “build a submersible.” The Arctic and Ocean apps have the building activities (like a puzzle) that have tidbits of info and then a free play with the items/animals he can build and the weather is basically all free play.
I was anxious to add the World School app but was unsure it was worth it since he is just now 2 years. I finally gave in yesterday and am very pleased. He is barely making it through the videos and I have to point him to the activities, but he could perfectly navigate the videos with only a few minutes of figuring it out.
The videos are fantastic. They are about a minute long and conversational, which is the ideal way of learning. The narrator is very articulate and the detail of the videos is great. They have a wonderful combination of animation and real imagery.
I am more than happy to pay a fee to support new and fabulous content. Thank you MarcoPolo, keep it coming!
I think the idea behind this app is great but it’s content is extremely limited, I didn’t find much difference between my 9 yr olds profile and my 4 yr olds. I thought it also said you could have up to 6 kids (profiles) but I was only able to make 3 which doesn’t work for me since I have 6 kids. My autistic son did enjoy this app but it just doesn’t have enough diversity on it for me to pay $8/month, it was very one note. I would just say do the free trial and see if it is right for you but I didn’t feel it was worth it. I gave it 3 stars because my child did enjoy it and it was easy to cancel my subscription through the App Store and I wasn’t charged, it just wasn’t as good as the advertisement I felt.
Thank you for your feedback. We offer 3 students per subscription. Our curriculum is designed with leading PhD's in early childhood education and the lessons were built to appeal to younger and older audiences. One of the unique features of a World School membership is that we update the app with new lessons activities EVERY week. For example, we just updated the app with a VEHICLES engineering field trip along with a new sentence maker game called Wordplay Mix and Match. We will soon be releasing ME, a field trip that explains typical things a child wonders about ie: what is pee, poop, ear wax, nose bleeds and more. We offer very unique STEAM-focused lessons that are not normally found in other educational products. We hope you will come give WS another try.
Initial frustrations with signing up but helpful customer service
Initially had difficulty with signing up and felt like a limited customer service response, however when I requested help again swift and helpful outcome. I love the site and was disappointed that I might not be able to use it, also can sign both my kids up whereas other learning sites usually require separate subscriptions so it’s excellent value. My kids love it, this is the only app I’ll let them use as I feel it complements all of our other non screen activities extremely well
