Who knew being so evil could feel so good!
Well it’s that time again, a new kingdom rush to add more to the absolutely fantastic series! I’ve been with this game since it was on armor games and from the first game till today I’m still impressed with the content! Not only is the gameplay smooth, it’s a well balanced well worth game. The new tower system does bug me a tad but not enough to take away from the game. On the other hand the tower system offers a new way to play with more strategy on how you can compose your army of darkness. Now the towers are all very fun but some are locked behind a price tag, this wouldn’t be an issue since you don’t need the locked ones to complete all the achievements but to have all the toys $5.99 for a single tower is irritating. The hero’s have fallen into this category since day one so I’m not blown away. Aside from gameplay and more in app purchases there is no longer an encyclopedia or extra levels post campaign. By no means is this boycott worthy but I’d hoped that Ironhide would stay consistent with some options. Another thing is the skill tree, not only is it smaller but it’s far to vague feeling almost useless in the long run for all it shows. Iron levels and elite levels offer no more stars or souls now forwarding your skill tree by 0%. I’m hoping to see some more post campaign levels and possibly even some cuts in prices, overall it’s worth it’s price for the game but it in dire need of some changes.
This game is so much fun! It has been ages since I bought a game and said like 500 times “OMGOSH this game is so much fun!” I got this for half price during the Christmas sale and also bought the super discounted extra cash shop towers and a couple of the cash shop hero’s and those are awesome too!
Now the ONLY reason I’m giving this game 4 instead of 5 stars is that I think the cash shop items are waaaaay too expensive at regular price. In fact I did not buy the holiday All Heroes pack because I bought the All Towers pack and didn’t want to spend another $15. . .which is the sale price of 50% off. In total to get the game, all heroes, and all towers during 50% off would be approx $30...on sale. So if you didn’t have all of this stuff on sale right now it would be about twice as much and that’s just too high of a price. I think $30 on sale is way too high as well. I know the extra stuff isn’t necessary to beat the game but still...it’s a bit greedy. Please tone that down a bit in the future.
Otherwise this game is amazing even if you don’t buy anything extra. I’m having such a great time playing it and I’d definitely recommend it to anyone who loves TD games. The new tower types and skills and upgrades are so much fun to play with and the graphics are even cuter and more crisp than the previous installments. There is so much to love!
It hurts me to give it three.
Let me start out by saying, I’ve been a kingdom rush fan since day one. They are by far the best mobile games on the market. Vengeance had so much potential yet it was squandered. Let’s start with the pros. First, the game looks great. It is very visually appealing and is very detailed. Second, is there are SOME good towers in this game and they really play of your nostalgia. For instance, the Dark Knights or the Harassers were some of the coolest, yet most annoying enemies to go against, and to have them in your arsenal is beyond epic. The third, is that it has some cool level design. But in my opinion, it seemed that this game was a BIG cash grab. Just playing on people’s nostalgia to buy it. Firstly, let’s talk about the towers you have to pay for. That is completely unacceptable. There is one they sell for around $7!!!! Second, is the terribly boring enemies. They had so many chances to put in cool enemies yet they failed. Third, is the lack of content. There were very few levels to play in and no post campaign levels when they first came out. And then they release the most terrible DLC with 3 new levels. It is SO bad. The enemies are just annoying and really break the mechanics of the game. Lastly, is wasted potential. There were so many cooler towers and hero’s they could’ve come up with. In all, this is a great game, but it does not match up the the Kingdom Rush Standard.
