Your weight fluctuates daily. In contrast to other apps Scelta compares weekly averages and shows your real weight progress!
If you have ever used a scale regularly you know this problem:
Your weight fluctuates from day to day and it’s difficult to say whether you gained weight, lost weight or just had a heavy day. Salty food, hydration status, sleep, stress, and hormonal fluctuations are just some of the many factors that can influence your weight heavily in the short term.
To know what’s really going on you need to compare averages to each other. - eg. the average of the last 14 days to the average of the 14 days before. The difference, also known as delta, between these time spans is a very informative indicator of what really happens to your body weight.
Scelta calculates this “scale delta“ for you and makes weight tracking approachable, meaningful, a lot of fun and incredibly motivating.
Data visualisation of the next generation:
• Your real progress: Scelta compares your average weight for the selected time span to the previous time span, eg. 7 days vs 7 days prior
• Linear regression instead of peaks and valleys: A line of best fit shows your actual weight trend graphically
• Reach your own goal: select eg. “- 1 lb per week” (or “- 0,5kg per week” depending on your local unit) and see at a glance how good you’re doing by taking a look at your adherence percentage
• Hear your weight: Swipe on the graph to see the exact value of a data point and its linear regression, hear and feel (on devices with Taptic Engine) the value of your weight entries (you’ve never seen, heard or felt your weight this way!)
• Scelta shows your total progress and how far you have come since you started your goal
• After setting a new goal (eg. a lean gaining phase after losing fat) you can still go back to older goals to see your previous progress
• See a graph of your goal adherence for every day since you first set your goal. Swiping on it reveals your weekly rate of weight change and how well you adhered to your goal in the 7, 14 oder 30 day average comparison on that day. There has never been anything like it before.
And because everything is more fun as a game:
• The RPG where you are the main character: Collect Scelta Points by reaching your own goal and level up
• Prolific story: Unlock many different achievements for your adhering to your weight adventure
• Online leader boards: Compete with your friends or users worldwide to see who accomplishes their personal weight goals best
Losing weight on a fat-loss diet, keeping your lean-gaining phase in check or if you’re just trying to maintain your current weight:
Weight Tracking has never been this fun!
What position will you reach with your personal progress in the leader boards?
Download Scelta now and try it today!
Scelta integrates with the Apple Health app:
Scelta uses the Health app that is pre-installed on your iPhone to show already existing weight data and to save new entries. Because of this Scelta will ask you to grant read- and write-access to your weight data.
Your weight is only visible to you and is not sent or visible to anyone but yourself.
Achievements you unlock and points you collect to climb the leader boards are a result of how well you adhere to your goals and not your actual weight entries. The goal you set for yourself is not visible to anyone else as well.

Scelta 1.5 is a big update and brings a number of exciting improvements to three key points:
1.) Flexibility - Easily visualize ALL weight entries or goals you’ve ever had
2.) Personalization - 9 stunning new themes and icons you can unlock by leveling up
3.) New languages - Norwegian Bokmål, Dutch and (Brazilian) Portuguese (Thanks to Bjørn, Maxim and Leonardo!)
Showing all weight entries you’ve ever recorded and visualizing progress you made before using Scelta have been highly requested.
1.5 adds two new features to make this possible.
First, there’s a new feature to edit the time span of your goals and add previous goals. Just tap the new goal description button in the overview tab or go to settings -> “All my goals“. If you’ve e.g. had your goal of loosing weight even before you downloaded Scelta, you can adjust the active time span of your goal to when you first began your journey. You may add, adjust and remove as many goals as you like to visualize your whole journey in the overview tab.
Secondly, there’s an all new “All entries“ mode. You can access it by navigating back to your very first (left-most) goal in the overview tab. If you’ve enabled Health Sync, Scelta will find the very first weight entry that’s saved on your device and show a graph of all your progress. You can also set your own start date. Instead of visualizing your adherence to a weekly goal, you’ll see a graph of your weekly rate of weight change calculated by comparing monthly averages. Especially if you have a year worth of weight entries or more this kind of insight will be incredibly powerful.
In addition to Black Edition you can now choose from 9 new themes and icons to make Scelta feel even more at home:
Black & White, Warp Drive, Really Red, Deep Ocean, Wow Neon, Red ’n’ Black, Gold is best, Scelta Special and Pretty Pink.
Some themes can be unlocked by in-game progress such as reaching a certain level (e.g. the ruby achievement for “Really Red“) or a number of certain SP coins (e.g. 100 gold coins for “Gold is best“). You can try out every theme for 15 seconds as often as you want and optionally unlock it immediately by purchasing it. This helps support the development of Scelta and time for new features.
3.) New languages
The goal of Scelta has always been to make tracking your weight as fun and meaningful as possible to every user. Thank you so much to Bjørn Ludvig Krog (Norwegian Bokmål), Maxim Coppieters (Dutch) and Leonardo Leucas (Brazilian Portuguese) for making Scelta accessible to even broader audience. You can check them out by going to settings -> translation team.
Scelta is now localized to 10 languages:
German, English, French, Polish, Russian, Spanish, Chinese (simplified), Norwegian, Dutch and Portuguese.

Health app or game?
I keep a weight log for medical reasons. I tried this app to have a different view of my changes. Since my goal is to not lose weight the goal is set near 0% and is heavily affected by changes. The longer the term, the easier to stay on course.
I soon became obsessed with accumulating coins. Although I didn’t try to control my weight I was setting alarms to make sure I gathered my coins every 18 hours, regardless of my other activity. I soon raced up the standings.
Then I convinced myself that I was actually using the app as a tool and all these other people were just playing a game. I was honorable and they were all cheaters! I realized how someone could set themselves up to gather coins/points in the most expeditious manner possible and that they must have figured it out also.
Finally, I have gotten back to using this as a tool to aid my health. Although I will continue to gather points when I can, I have calmed (not lost!) my obsession with the “game” aspect of the app. After all, I gotta get back in the top 10!
Haha, thank you for sharing this cool story! Laughed so much reading it and really enjoyed hearing your insight!
Very inspiring for me to hear that the gamification aspect of Scelta can have such an impact. I know my father is really obsessed with collecting SP as well!
I thought a lot about how one could prevent users from cheating as much as possible. E.g. "Locking" your goal for the next 7 days after setting it is one measure. - Otherwise users could just change their goal every day to adjust to their current situation to always get 100%.
But of course there's nothing I can really do to prevent users from "cheating" by just putting in arbitrary entries or putting in one entry and always collecting coins. :D
Some of the top Game Center players I know personally and I'm quite sure they don't cheat. ;)
The design decision behind rewarding users with coins every 18 hours was to motivate users to put in their weight every day and check daily how well they're on track with their current weight goal. And depending on how well they're doing, reward them and motivate them to do as good as possible. This drives progress in the right direction. And what's important to me is that this allows users to "be in the now". Far too many apps focus on some arbitrary number in the future and I think focusing on your current progress and being satisfied with where you are at currently and how things are developing is really the only way to ever be happy.
If they've done this for some time they can look back at all their coins, their level and see how good they adhered to their goal in comparison to others. - Healthy competition is always a great way to get people excited.
And seeing "I was able to collect 100 silver coins", "I'm already level 35" etc., those things are just a fun way to reflect on all the work you put in. In the end these achievements (literally) can only bring out their full magic when it's your real journey, your "blood, sweat and tears" that stands behind it. That's what makes these achievements your achievements. :)
Great to track weight
I’m actively trying to lose weight and this app makes me look forward to my daily weigh in... its frustrating having the daily variation on the scales and this app allows me a more realistic view.
Weirdly I thought the collection of points was gimmicky but it actually helps motivate me toward my goal.
I also had occasion to suggest an update back to the developer - who responded very quickly - and turned out the function was already built in.
I’ve tried a lot of apps, looking specifically for graphing similar to what the Hacker’s diet provides on-line. I need to see, over time, if my weight fluctuations are really a loss or not. This app shows neatly where you are progressing over the last week, month and 60 days. If I had a single beef with it, it’d be that I’d want to graph even longer periods of time. Bonus: it reads and writes to the health app. The graphing is worth the $. Best I’ve seen over a dozen or so weight monitoring apps.
Thank you very much for your elaborate feedback! I've never heard about the Hacker's diet before to be honest, but I'm glad that you found a similar way if graphing with Scelta. :)
Sure, I'm currently working on exactly that for Scelta 1.5. - In the overview tab your very first "goal" will show all entries that are available on your device along with a graph of your weekly rate of weight change. At the moment it's already possible to have goals for as many days as you like and see very long periods of time this way, but with 1.5 it'll be possible to freely edit the time span of those goals. So for example, if you've had your current goal even before you first started using Scelta you can accommodate for it.
All the best on your journey,
