It's my go to app

I like Weather bug. I don't love it but I do like it. It's my go to app - mainly because it give me a 10 day forecast; it gives hourly reports; it gives detailed forecast; and it shows live radar.
So why do I only give it 4 stars instead of 5? Almost every time I log on, I get this annoying pop up that I have to "x" out in order to see weather bugs main page. Once that stops - if it ever does - I'll change my rating to 5 stars. I often need to check weather on the fly for business and that pop up slows me down - and quite frankly, annoys the he** out of me.
The other thing that I do not like is that weather bug's forecasts tend to always focus on the negative. They're more likely to say it's going to rain when it doesn't. It always seems like gloom and doom on their app compared to others, and unfortunately, the other apps forecasts are more accurate. However that doesn't stop me from using weather bug as my "go to", and I always look there first. If things look good, I leave it at that. But if weather bug says chance of rain, I'll always compare to other apps. About 50% of the time, weather bugs forecast is more negative compared to similar apps, and less than 50% of the time, they turn out to be right.
Other than those problems - I think it rocks!

Great weather+ app

This is my new go-to weather source on my iPhone. Lots of info with easy to arrange options so I see what I want on top of the page. The only limitation is having to chose from preset locations for data. I live within ~12 miles of the closest preset but having to mentally "move the pin" in my head to calculate when the rain will get to me is the only reason I did not give it 5 stars. This only bothers me a little but others might live much farther away from presets. When you are traveling and don't know the area well, the preset names are the names of the weather stations and give you no info about where in the region they might be. In a large city you have to pick one at random and see where the pin drops on the map to see if it's close to where you will be OR do a lot of map searching on a different app to find the locations first and see which one might be close to you. I can understand the need to chose from preset locations but a "find location closest to me" button would help immensely and would also increase my rating to a 5.

Great App, But...

I really generally like this app a lot and I have been a subscriber for a number of years. With the last few releases (and I don't have a specific version to reference), there have been several "features" that have been added that may be useful to some users, but they only serve to clutter the main content page. For instance, the WeatherBug Home feature is meant to allow the app to connect to the users "smart" thermostat and their local energy provider and produce information and tools to manage their home's use of energy based on weather conditions. In and of itself, the feature could be quite handy. But, if a user does not have a smart thermostat and/or are unable to connect to their local energy provider, the WeatherBug Home information only serves to clutter the main page.
I have suggested that this feature be made a selectable option in the app settings.
This is why I have given the app a three star rating here and on the technology information outlets to which I regularly contribute.
