The BofA app worked fine until the update last month (9/17), and I’m still having trouble with the most recent update from a few days ago. Instead of a flawless log in with Touch ID, I now get a black bar under the red header with a message saying “loading, please wait” that never moves to the next step about 50% of the time. I did try re-entering my login info but this did not work. I have also tried closing/restarting both the app and my phone (iphone 7 plus iOS 11.1) to no avail.

Since I check my account virtually every day the inability to consistently access my account info via the app is frustrating. I am able to access other apps and websites so it is not a connectivity issue and, as already stated, this is a recent and App specific issue.

FYI - I tried clicking on the app help on the BofA app page in the Apple App Store, but the only options were to: 1. Send a Facebook message (I don’t have an account), 2. Send a tweet ( don’t use and wouldn’t do this for a financial app anyway), or 3. Call BofA for help ( I can only imagine how trying to explain my issue via a phone call would go). There should be a tech support form link in the App Store or a way via the BofA app or website to submit a form to quickly describe my issue and get support or, at the very least, links to a tech support common issues/resolutions and FAQ section.

It seems many people have had a bad experience with this app, but it has worked well for me so far. I do most of my banking at a computer online, but wanted an ability to electronically send people money on the go (i.e., for my share of a restaurant bill, etc). This app does just that, and it is relatively easy. I have tried it on several people I know with success. I look forward to trying to deposit a check via photo; this also seems like a nice feature. Additionally, I was able to pay one of my eBills via this app with ease. Navigating the app is also relatively easy and intuitive. The ability to look at my account statuses is less important because I keep track of them with other check balancing software/checkbooks, and for more serious banking/account reconciling work I will use the online computer version. Additionally, some of the other features (Amerideals, etc) I don't use so I cannot comment on. However, it does exactly what I wanted it to do with relative ease and without hiccups, so I give it 5 stars.

Also gets glitchy. Can’t reset pw fully with it syncing to the actual BoA site. Several times over past months. Have to log into browser. Delete old app. Reinstall new. 45 minutes of tech support and guy got offended when I told him maybe to outsource so new developers so BoA can have a banking app that actually reliably works.

@ MIke: yes, of course I tried using the touch ID but that only worked for about 3 days and then no longer (?). I DID try to reset the pw via the app- several times with rebooting included. Although it looked like it took the pw & I received the text key, etc... it did not store the new pw. Every time I went to log in, even when pw reset from tech support, it took me to the enter acct # /ssn page. When on browser site, I tried using the new pw that I created and it didn’t take saying had to be different. Obviously the app synced with BoA on some level however nothing, again, worked in the app. With over 17+ yrs in wireless/global regulatory type approval, I am not a newbie re: proper app functionality. You guys should really FIX the bugs in these apps because it’s creating a wretched experience for small business owners like myself.
