Alright app

As far as giving me the information about my local weather goes, the app is great. But there are some nuances along the way... The ads are intrusive, often times I don't even click the ad but it still opens the App Store or a browser... And the ads are EVERYWHERE. The headlines of their videos are extremely misleading such as "This could change everything" or "you'll never believe this" and then the video (usually not even related to weather) is some 40 second story about absolute crap. Most of the time they aren't even interesting... They use misleading titles for their videos so that you'll click, watch a 15 second ad (sometimes 2) and then watch their dumb little video. And today I saw a video that was reposted from a year ago... So now they are recycling old content and presenting it as new. If this didn't have a good 10-day forecast and a radar that I consider the best for a mobile phone, I would have dropped this app a long time ago.

Newer doesn't mean better

So there are ads everywhere but someone has to pay for the bandwidth and app so I get it. What I don't want is an ad network accessing where I am in the background all the time I turned that off and now it can't find me when it's open! How stupid is apple that they can't create a useful api to control apps and say you can see my location. When you are open not all the time if you're open or not!! I can't believe I need to manually turn this setting on and off. For the weather channel app I recommend not using it now because they don't get the right to sell all that data about you. I don't use this app anymore do to the over use of location data and ads. There is no reason you need my location data when I'm not using your app stop selling personal information weather channel.

Pretty good, but cluttered with irrelevant videos

I like the overall design of this app, but the user experience could still use some fine tuning.

If I'm looking at local weather, I'm probably not interested in videos about the weather in other parts of the country or the world. This app has enough ads; it doesn't need to be littered with video thumbnails too. Even more superfluously, a weather video thumbnail that probably doesn't pertain to your area is included in the Notification Center widget. Don't put clutter in widgets!!!

The app is compatible with Apple Watch, a nascent niche device, yet hasn't been updated to support the screen resolutions of the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, devices that are already in the hands of millions of users. I understand the importance of being on Apple Watch at launch, but I hope an update for the 6 and 6 Plus is also in the works.
