Customer Reviews

Clean and easy tester

This is a quality app (pleasant interface) that has been doing an excellent job speed-testing my cellular data connections. The ads in the free version are unobtrusive so far. It also does an excellent job determining my current mobile provider and also selecting good test partners to measure throughput.

I saw a complaint/review saying that this app only measures burst-speed instead of overall (accurate) speed. That review is incorrect. The app is more complicated than the reviewer gives credit. The app seems to employ several techniques to determine sustained throughput on upstream and downstream connections; I have watched it do this many times on my tests (e.g. my connections will sometimes burst much higher and sometimes lower, but the app monitors the data stream patiently and waits for it to level off before capturing measurements).

False results to fool consumers

If speedtest actually cared about accuracy this application it would give the average over all speed of the speed test performed and not just the highest number that popped up for one tenth of a second during the test, while the rest of the test, the speed was so slow that the odometer needle barley moved.

Based of all the praises apparently no one other than myself has ever had to call their internet provider because of slow internet speed. If they have they would have realized that this application as well as every other application out there does not accurately tell you what your internet speed is.

It gives you the highest burst speed that you get during your speed test as your internet speed, which amounts to a lie that your internet provider will use to justify your are getting the speed you are paying for when the number falls in the internet providers favor.

Yet when the test number shows slow internet speed, suddenly speedtest not considered accurate by internet providers and cannot be relied on for accurate internet speed. Which amounts to a joke of a program design to fool the typical consumer into thinking they are not getting ripped off by their internet provider and is used to justify shady or questionable bandwidth practices of internet providers.

For all its praises Speedtest is rarely ever accurate.

The best app of it's own kind

This app is not only the best and most accurate and fastest app available in the App Store but it does a lot more than other similar app's at on the App Store. I use the paid version of this app simply because I love it. This is one of those apps anyone needs to have (a least the free version). The ability of the app to show your actual download and upload speed on cell and wifi is amazing. This app even beats all PC software even the ones that were designed by the popular ISPs or cellular providers. Please try and you are going to love it as I did many years ago.
