What's New in Version 5.11
In-book search improvements, including the ability to see search results broken down by chapter.
Bug fixes and performance improvements.
Good but needs some improvement.
Generally very good, and functional, but if the app had some additional features it would be 5 stars. Simple things that would allow you to control the text and the way you view it. Fonts, Size, Colors, Highlighting, Bookmarks, Notes and such. More options are better.
One thing I find frustrating is that many books and texts have splash pages, images, such that require you to have the the book "open" so that you can see both pages simultaneously. This option would make a world of difference.
I also use an iPad Pro, and find that split-screen support needs to be implemented. Actually, this is a complaint I find with many apps. When the iPad first gained this functionality, I could understand apps not having it. It's been years now, so there are no more excuses. Implement Splitscreen!
Generally love, but needs an update
In general, I'm a big fan of the kindle app. It is driving me crazy though as I get more books to read. They are all still there on the screen. Once I open the book, I realize I've read it already. I wish there was a way to shelve the books I've already read and get them out of the way. Or like the nook, archive them. They aren't gone, just not visible. The kindle has shelves, but I'm not going to shelve each book as it comes in and anyway, even if they were on "shelves" they are all still visible on the home screen. I don't have the room to download all of the ones I haven't read yet and show only the ones on the device. I like books! And sometimes I'm more in the mood for a romance than detective, so I have more than a few in any genre.
Can we get!?!?
I love the ability to read books on my Kindle app for my iPad however I have recently started using the unlimited books subscription. I wish that they would implement a button or something so that when you were done with an unlimited borrowed book you could return it via the app instead of going to the website first. It makes it into extremely difficult to recognize the books that you have borrowed using the unlimited system. I buy books as well of you unlimited and have been struggling to figure out which is which. I would also like to re-implement the buy from app system as that makes things easier when trying to get the next book in a series.
