Ratings and Reviews
This app saves lives and sanity.
Some teachers are lazy and old school, refusing to embrace the excellence which is the new digital age of instant information and modern technology. If you have one of these archaic teachers who still prefer to carve their study plan into stone tablets and believe typewriters with ink are "tools from the devil," this app will save your life and more importantly, your sanity. You will know your grade before she smoke-signals the rest of her tribe, and the ability to quickly take notes and keep track of homework assignments on the fly is witchcraft for a tasty win. The fact Homework also syncs between devices and keeps track of due dates using the integrated notification system in OSX and iOS, two acronyms your teacher can't spell, makes like organized and gives you a heads up when a quiz is coming up or if an assignment is missing.
This is worth every digital cent. Fight the power, buy the app, enjoy speaking with satellites as your homework syncs together and drives your Puritan teacher back to Amish paradise.
*note: if you are a teacher, I love you. Please don't flunk me.
A couple of suggestions
Nice application. Would be nice if we could customize the groups listed in the Group Weights category. My grade is comprised of more than Homework, Projects, Quizzes, Readings, and Tests. I often have several different tests given to me during the semester, each one carrying a different weight (ex: midterm 10% and final 15%). I am also graded on participation. Different projects also have different grade weights.
Also, the color rectangle to the left of the assignment title always makes me think it is a box that is somehow getting cut off on my screen. I think because there is no real edge or shading on the left side of the rectangle. I thought for the longest time that there was some writing in the colored box that I wasn't seeing, that maybe the programming was off so I didn't get to see the entire shape. However, looking at the screenshots posted here, I can see that they are not cut off squares, but simply color-coded rectangles. Can the rectangles be moved to the right a little? Not seeing a defined border drives me nuts! : )
Good, but could be better
I do appreciate the convenience of an organizational app specifically for my school work so that I don't clutter up my calendar, which isn't the most convenient tool to organize and track my required readings, homework, projects, and tests. This apps nice because I can categorize it by class and add some immaterial details, like professor information. However, this app could use a tune up. For one, the UI can be a bit confusing on my iPad so you need something a little more user friendly like calendar view by class, including readings. Second, I have no way to sync the data between my iPad and my iPhone, and I don't own a MacBook or iMac, so why not provide something for PC users? Also perhaps add the option to attach or upload files for courses so I can have my syllabus on hand without having to pan through several other programs. Lastly, your repeat option for assignments doesn't appear to work correctly, or at all for that matter.
Really though, it keeps me on track and organized so it gets the job done.
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
