What's New in Version 2.5.2
Good just needs a few fixes
I use tapatalk frequently for forums like dbstalk. It works much better these days vs a year ago. It makes it easier to use online forums on the go. There are a few issues though:
You can't participate in polls. No votes can be seen or cast in this app.
If clicking a link in the thread opens a web view of the thread and most of the time it's behind a protected forum and you have to log in. I can't participate in click through links on mobile because all my passwords are on the PC in last pass and there's no lastpass plugin for safari. This means I have to manually navigate and try to find the thread that the link is pointed to.
Tables in threads are not properly formatted. If a poster puts a table in a thread, it's a bunch of jumbled run on text when viewing it through this app.
Other than that, they fixed a lot of the crashing issues that plagued previous versions. Make sure your up to date and it should be good.
It's come a long way
I first started using this app early this summer, and it has only gotten better with the most recent overhauls. I'm a forum junkie and this app makes it 100x easier to keep track of all my accounts and posts, as well as keeping them easily accessible. With the new update there is now even a feed like you'd find on Facebook and twitter, so that you don't have to sign into each site individually in order to see the newest posts. The new interface is easy to navigate and well organized. This is a must have for those who want their forums on-the-go.
Zoom to the top of the page?
Is there a way to zoom to the first post on the page I'm reading? My user experience would be so much better if I did less scrolling. In the last version, "refresh" didn't act like "refresh", and that was a problem that I'm glad it's now fixed, but I kinda miss the buggy refresh button, because I could use it to fly up to the top post on the page without scrolling. I wish there were a refresh button and a zoom to the top of the page button.
