Happier with previous version

I loved this app before the latest upgrade. Generally, it gets me where I need to go, and I love that the users can warn one another of heavy traffic, accidents, and police speed traps or cameras on lights in areas in which we are unfamiliar. My only complaint with the latest version is this... Why on earth does it want to automatically turn on navigation for my saved locations? Example: I open the app when I get in the car and it asks me if I'm going to work. I have to take the time to say no, and if I forget, it tries to navigate for me from home to work. This might have seemed like a cool feature to add for users, but THINK ABOUT IT! I KNOW how to get from home to work! I KNOW how to get from work to home! I save those locations for the rare occasions when I'm elsewhere and need to get back there from an unfamiliar spot in town and want the fastest route. I use this app on a daily basis NOT to navigate to and from work and home but.... That's right... To know how traffic is on the way to and from work and home! So if it's at all possible, I'd love to have this feature removed, I realize it only takes one more tap for me to turn it off, but WOW is it counterintuitive for an otherwise really nicely made app.

Biased and hypocritical

It's biased and hypocritical. You got users either reporting false information or not reporting stuff at all. I've witnessed users driving by legitimate things and not confirming it. One other thing they might do is report something twice so they get the points instead of original person who first saw the event. I've seen higher ranked users intentionally reporting someone for inaccurate information (and Waze believes it instead of getting both sides) perhaps because they're afraid of competition and want to keep scoreboard fixed. The system will automatically ban a user for reporting too much information yet they don't clearly elaborate what is too much or too little. Law enforcement will use the app to circumvent and lead people off. Lastly the app is missing some key reporting features esp when reporting construction information. The whole concept of basing legitimacy of reports on other users is ignorant and naive because you don't know what users real motives are and they could be lying or busy driving. This app is also incredibly unsafe and a threat to law enforcement because one could use it to identify location of police and hurt them. Glitches exist where reports will be removed from map too soon particularly reports reflecting unsafe scenarios. This app is a good idea but like many apps it isn't configured or maintained properly rendering it dysfunctional.

Good droning app, but doesn't respect your privacy

I found Waze to be accurate and full of information that was useful to the driver, but I have noticed that they make it difficult to remain private, and that they are gradually removing privacy functionality over time.
There are many reasons to be private on the road, you may have concerns for safety, or concerns that locations that you work at, visit, etc. might be revealed. This app doesn't respect those concerns: private driving cannot be made a default, the application reverts back to visible for each new drive, you can't report road hazards in private driving (this used to be possible, but has been recently changed).
There is no support for this app except forums, and frankly, forums are no help if you have a problem with your account. I am on my second account; when my phone was upgraded, the account would not switch to the new phone no matter what I did.
If none of the above is of a concern to you, then you'll find this app to be superior to other alternatives, so they've done a good job; if privacy is a concern for you or technical assistance then this app may not be for you.
