Getting a little better but...
With the latest update the interface is a little easier to use. But this app still makes me feel like I am using a Mac/PC program that the developer is trying to port to the iPhone. They are still not utilizing the advantages of the touch screen interface to make the program really nice to use. For example there is no tap and hold function to bring up a menu so I the user can delete copy, etc. I have to go through a few menus before I get to the copy function. This is not the way to design an iPhone app. In most apps I can click on a word and drag to select what I want to highlight which then pops up the commands for copy, past, and delete. I also, want to be able to tap and hold on a note to drag it to some where else in the score sheet. I don't want to spend time jumping to multiple menus in order to do these simple functions. Things need to be designed so that the song writer can jump quickly from mind to app. I hope this app gets a overhaul of the interface. This is a nice app or could be. And why does the app keep going from landscape to portrait mode flipping back and forth when I go to the instrument/ option menus?
The instruments sound good but I don't think there is still enough of them for my tast.
Also, where is the Ipad version!!
Thanks for putting the option to delete things! It's really helped me clean it out :)
But where did the glockenspiel go? I had a composition for that but now I have to use the celesta. Please put it back in soon! Also, something I would like to say again is to not have some title filled in already when saving. I finished something and when I went to save it I accidentaly saved it as my previous project name, losing it. I had to re-compose my organ composition. I was a little mad but I was glad I could dig it out of my head again. But to make sure that doesn't happen again to another person, I suggest you leave that "project Name" thing or whatever when saving, blank so that we can type it in ourselves. I appreciate you trying to help us save typing energy, but I would rather type in a few words than losing my entire project.
Thanks for listening!
Very good, still missing some things
I love this app. It allows me to compose and copy music on the go. I was especially happy when the update gave us higher quality sounds and ties. However, the new instruments tend to be quite loud when they play low notes, which tends to drown out the higher ones. Plus, instruments like the electric piano are much quieter and hard to hear against other instruments.
Summary: it's very good but I'd like to be able to change the volume throughout the song and for different clefs. A way to manually enter in a bpm number for the tempo would be nice too.
