This app is a sanity saver
I'm almost afraid to admit that I'm one of the oddballs of society that Starbucks hasn't been my first choice of "fuel" before work. That being said things have changed recently as this is literally on my way to work now and I've been very pleasantly surprised at how my order has come out at this location! Win all the way around for me! The only thing driving me up the wall is that my location is small and has an extremely high volume of customers. The Baristas do a pretty decent job for the most part keeping it going but I began to notice that if I order any food item while in store (not in drive through) I ended up waiting for it because they forgot about it. When I asked about it the first time I was met with a serious attitude from the girl, so I let it slide. The second time I ordered and it was the same girl that did it the first time (and they are talking about you in the headsets and staring at you while doing so) it's pretty obvious that it's going to be a trend. Needless to say once I realized I could order my wake up juice on the way to work and have it ready and waiting, I was super excited! This app is a sanity saver! I have not had to wait for my food order! (YAY! The egg whites are amazing by the way!) And my coffee is super delish! Wish I would have realized this from the get go!
Recent Update Full of Bugs/ Features Taken Away
This is my first review ever. Before the most recent update, I would have rated the Starbucks app 5 stars, but now it's been getting more and more annoying the last few days. 2 days ago, I was across the street from a Starbucks and I wanted to use the mobile app order ahead feature so I wouldn't have to wait in line. I've done the order ahead on the app the day prior, but this time it couldn't locate that particular store, but found other ones much farther. Then once it found that store, everything and anything I tried to order said unavailable. I ended up going to the store, waiting in line and ordering the exact thing the app said they didn't have. I also noticed that a feature that I really really liked was taken away. Before the update, when you ordered it would update you on how long until your item is ready. It still gives you an estimate, such as 4-9 mins. But before it would say 4-9 mins, and then 2-5 mins, and then "your order will be ready shortly". It was great! But now it doesn't do that anymore. And now today, trying to order ahead and it can't find any Starbucks at all. ZERO! I don't want to wait in line on my lunch. I only have so much time and the Starbucks right near me gets super busy, so it's nice to order ahead. The app today also keeps freezing. Please fix this and go back to the old Starbucks app that we all came to know and love and throw this update in the garbage!
Such a great way to order your drink
I am a regular Starbucks customer and go to STARBUCKS 2-3 times a day. I usually order using my app. It is pretty easy to use for most things. The only reason I am giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is because you can't free-text a message regarding your order. I do not want my tea shaken and I can't convey when I order my drink. The other thing is I have run across a few times where I order an item such as a chocolate croissant and I get a message that the store does not have this item in stock, yet when I arrive to pick up my drink I see the item I wanted to order in stock. This then requires me to stand in line to buy my item, which is what I wanted to avoid. If these two things could be fixed I would rate the app 5 stars. I also don't know how to order via mobile app at a Starbucks near me? I travel a lot so being able to order using my app would help save me time. I only order using the app when I visit my regular stores. I am sure there is a way to order when you don't know the store closet to you or you are in a city and don't know the address. I guess I need to figure how to do this. Like I said I love this app, but it could still use some tweaking to make it even better.
