A Little Disappointed
I own the original version of this game and it has a hi-res icon, but the graphics are not in retina. I own the ipad version, which is on par with retina and requires hi-res. Now, I buy part 2 of I Dig It, and it's like stepping back in time. The icon is not hi-res and stands out as blurry on the iphone 4 or 4s. The game itself is also not hi-res. I would understand that the developers don't have the time to add retina graphics to an old game, except they've already done all the work on the ipad. At a minimum, I would like to see the icon upgraded. This is an amazing game. I strongly suggest upgrading the graphics and then adding an in game campaign purchase and you guys can make plenty more money off of this franchise. Few games keep my attention like this one. I can beat a level and then want to start it all over again. Please add retina support using the work you already did for the ipad, and then think about adding in some campaigns or additional levels. If you upgrade the game, you will find a whole new audience of fans.
This app definitely improves on the original. I love the idea of regulating the machine while looking for treasure. It gives strategy to the game that makes you manage the time as well as items while underground. If it were just digging it would have been very easy and therefore boring.I'm also glad the timer doesn't run out in the main game. This game needs more updates and upgrades for the digging machine. A good one would be a wheels upgrade that makes you able to scale walls at one point so you don't have to always rely on sticky bombs to reach treasure you missed. In a way, this game kind of reminds me of the organ trail directors cut in the sense that you have to manage your inventory and health which keeps the game challenging and fun.
I just don't understand how this game is not on the top of the App sales list. I Dig It Expeditions and I Dig it are two of my all time favoirte games for the iPhone. The graphics are some of tthe best I've seen. The controls are well, for some reason some companies just have the ability to take the same type of controls that are used by a great number of other games and just make them work so much better. I never have to think about controling the Digger it just seems to go where my mind want it to ( this is the same for Catacombs ). For this version the different environments are just a amazing addition especially the underwater one! I hope to see more from InMotion sooner than later because I simply can't wait.
