Easy and Motivating

I had trouble losing weight until this app motivated me to record and be responsible for my eating. Walk 30 minutes every day--no excuses. Eat good nutrient dense foods. STOP eating sugar and avoid bread. Record your eating faithfully. Be patient and consistent. It's that simple and it's that hard.

I carried 50 extra pounds pretty well, but when my cholesterol shot up to 180 I needed to get serious. Use this app and look into intermittent fasting. You WILL lose weight! With intermittent fasting I quit eating at 7 pm and I don't eat until 1 pm the next day. I exercise during the fast so my body has to burn fat instead of using blood sugar. When I eat I eat a huge salad with an entire chicken breast or 8-10 oz of fish or lean red meat. I eat nuts, veggies, and whole grain bran cereals with skim milk.

Because you are exercising and eating until you are full your metabolism doesn't slow down. Yes you feel starved by late morning but drink water, tea or coffee with NO sugar and hang in there. Have your healthy food ready to rip into and EAT until you are satisfied. Join your family at special meals, and even have some birthday cake, but log the food you eat! The calories you eat in a week are more important than the calories from a single day.

You will love using My Fitness Pal to track the progress. Be patient. Losing 2-3 pounds a week doesn't sound like much, but where will you be two months from now at that rate?

Exercise and apple health not connecting

I use to love this app until these past few months. It no longer tracks my exercise minutes because the apple health app will not sync with your app. I've read all the forums about uninstalling and reinstalling and I've tried everything with no success. I've even reached out to your customer support regarding this issue and never got a response back.
Not only has the app been experiencing the issue I've mentioned above, but it has been draining my iPhone battery at record speeds! I looked up what is using my battery and 59% of it was this app! That is insane when I only use it to track what I eat and drink during the day and close out of it when I'm done.
I really hope this app returns to what it once was or I will have to find a new app to switch to! It is extremely frustrating with the syncing and battery issue. Please fix soon!

Mandatory for Fat Loss

This app was a key factor in helping me lose 50 lbs. Tracking calories daily helped me better understand what I was eating and how it was contributing to my health.
This app is super easy to log foods with the large database and allows me to add foods by taking a photo of the barcode. I use this feature often. I really like that I can see my calories and macros for the day.
I highly recommend this app if you want to lose weight or track your fitness.
