What's New in Version 1.8.20
UPDATE NOW FOR BETTER GRAPHICAL PERFORMANCE. We’ve also made additional behind-the-scenes adjustments to improve overall functionality.
As always, thanks for playing Command & Conquer Red Alert for iPad. Download the update now and get back to what’s important – commanding the combat!
Its alright in the graphics, I have yet to encounter a crash, and is fun to play sometimes.
BUT... This game has some serious problems.
Clunky units- tanks are useful but bump into each other... A LOT... NO I MEAN SERIOUSLY, A LOT.
Standby units- I hate this one. You have be all around your units at all times because they can NOT think for themselves. An enemy can be attacking one of your units while units nearby just SIT THERE AND DO NOTHING UNITIL ATTACKED.
Damage and Health- I swear that no matter what faction you play as, your enemy will be twice as stronger and can produce units wwwaaayyy faster than you.
Bridges- What can I say? If your opponent's base is beyond a bridge and has turrets there.... You better have aircraft because units can apparently go one by one on a bridge, being massive sitting targets.
Disobedient Units- I HATE THIS SOOOO MUCH. When you select a group and select a point for them to go, sometimes some of them will go,to a DIFFERENT POINT THAN YOU SELECTED.
I was so excited when this game first came out. Then extremely disappointed. The lack of space to build, the lack of time given to do anything, and the lack fun make this game nothing like its pc predecessor. If you love c&c games, don't waste your time or money on this pathetic game. I waited over a year and decided, hey, I'll download it again, even buy it for my iPad since its on sale, surely they've made major updates in a years time.... WRONG! No graphics updates, no spacing updates, NOTHING. Hell, there's parts of this game that don't even make sense. An absolute disgrace to the c&c franchise. I had finally gotten over all my annoyances and was in the middle of a skirmish, had all my buildings built, was mounting up for an attack when out of nowhere..... The whole app CRASHES! So when I open it back up, I see a "Continue", so at first I'm relieved, until I tap it and it starts my entire skirmish over from the very beginning. WHAT'S THE POINT OF HAVING A CONTINUE IF IT DOESN'T DO JUST THAT??? So I deleted this app, writing this review, and will no longer be playing this game again. Thanks
This rocks, and no crashes
I have read through comments on many games and some say crashes all the time while other say they have never had a crash. Those people whose don't crash have IPads. So if you have an iPad, almost none of your games will crash, like me. Now to the review.
This game is very good, nice smooth controls and I like the cartoonish atmosphere. Although I was anticipating naval units like the original red alert games. But there are some minor tweaked that the developers should do. 1, the defenses are too weak. I'll have like 2 turrets which get taken down by only a tank and a missile soldier, even while they are being repaired. 2, they should at least try to put naval units in the game. And 3, bigger maps. I'll give it 4 stars for now, unless you start building up on this great game.
