The smell of desperation

Back in the early 1900's I imagine that somewhere in America there was a buggy whip manufacturer looking out his office window and watching a newfangled gas driven contraption passing by. And much like the television and cable executives of today he was trying to figure out some way to desperately hold on to the last remaining vestiges of his business. The new ABC app is the "buggy whip" symbol of the 21st Century. What marketing genius came up with this idea? Viewership is dropping through conventional avenues of over the air and cable while Internet viewing is increasing and shows no sign of letting up. So, let's aggravate the few viewers we still have by cutting them out of the app process if they do not subscribe to the cable operators we are in bed with. And for those viewers who do subscribe to the cable operators we cozy up to let's make the viewing experience difficult and cumbersome so that they won't think about coming back on a regular basis. Unbelievable! My only hope is that I live long enough to see them all go the way of the buggy whip. And then some smarter, wiser entrepreneurs can step in and salvage whatever is left. They certainly can't make it any worse.

Cable companies WIN

With all of these "Bug fixes" updates, it is just an attempt at them trying to get rid of all the THOUSANDS of negative reviews. So, I am posting yet another negative review:

ABC... I am a HUGE supporter of you, Disney, etc. However, it is TERRIBLE to see you taking steps backward and only allowing people to watch shows if they have a subscription service. I'm sorry, but this is not a customer-minded move. I will NEVER pay for TV. I am the next generation and we aren't going to change. Pretty soon the baby boomers will pass and people will continually stop paying for subscriptions.

On top of that previous rant, I would like to point out that although you ONLY allow a 'premium' viewing of live content, I happened to be at a friend's house last night (who stupidly pays for TV still) to watch the Oscars and the service didn't work on Apple TV, iPhone, a PC, or a MacBook Pro. Why would you offer a 'Premium' service that you can't even deliver? TERRIBLE!

1 star for complete lack of forward thinking and for giving in to the cable companies offering you so much money to screw over millions of viewers. Shame on you for that! Deleting app now.

TV service providers

I downloaded this app when 'Once Upon A Time' came out. I loved this app dearly. Whenever I missed an episode if watch it in Monday the next day with ease. I deleted it because 'Once Upon A Time' went on a very extensive season break. I totally forgot about this app because I have never missed an episode the past 2 seasons. Now, the first episode I miss in the last year, I downloaded the app to find it riddled with so many inconveniences it was crazy. I have a service provider and I verifies it but then I still couldn't watch it because of a 'User Authorization Error'. I am very disappointed with what this app has become. I say you take a step back and go back to the way it was before. I support and really do love you're work and I want to continue watching your shows without trouble, but you are making that really hard for me. Please listen to your reviews and try to fix things.
