Fracture allows you to paint cubist style portraits using your own photos. Aesthetics employed by abstract masters such as Pablo Picasso and Georges Braque have been studied and recreated in this fun creative app.
Simply use your camera or search your image gallery for 1 or more photos, adjust the settings to your specification and you are ready to start painting. The following features are available:
- Accelerometer - Shake to clear
- Save your painting to your image gallery
Send your best paintings to firstname.lastname@example.org to be featured in the Flickr gallery:

Great first version ....
The painting effects are great and lots of fun. Needs a control for 'offsetting', so image bit can be moved out of their original position. But needs more work on control interface. Could not find 'i' first time as I painted over it in bottom right corner. And attempting to move sliders often leads to sliding page instead. Saving horizontal pictures are not being done correctly. Not sure it is working or saving at full resolution. And lastly, it does often crash.
Looking forward to version 2.0!
Nice effect but low, low resolution
The idea is great but you get only wallet size images out of this app. Not useful at all.
Also when you pick images the app starts from the top of the camera roll - which I think is not helpful since the more current images are at the bottom.
Either way though, the low output size kills the app. They should mention this in the description. I would not have bought it!
### UPDATE ####
One more problem. When you pick an image that does not have the same ratio of the IPhone screen, then the photo you chose will be stretched to fit the screen. Looks weird, especially when you work with faces.
Good idea but still not completely baked through yet.

You have to 'paint' with your finger to create the effect.
The images you can produce are outstanding when you pick the right base photos and adjustments. It just eats me up that it works in toy resolution mode. With a better UI and HD resolution this would be a $3-5 app.
At the current level it should be free.
Very Cool Concept - Almost Perfect Execution
This app does exactly what it sets out to do -- make modern, cubist images easy to create. It works perfectly on my iPhone 4.
Others have mentioned that the output resolution (320x480) is disappointing, and I'd agree. I'd love to be able to export high definition versions of these images to print; the output is that pleasing.
Allow for high resolution output in an update, and this will be a major winner. As it is, it's fun.
