AutismTrack™ (by HandHold Adaptive®, makers of iPrompts®) is a journaling tool that empowers caregivers of those with autism to easily track interventions, behaviors and symptoms.
Checkboxes allow daily recording of any therapy, medicine or diet. Simple “sliders” allow rating of any behavior or symptom (e.g., eye contact, aggression and echolalic speech).
AutismTrack™ can help parents of children with ASD answer the ongoing and ever-puzzling question: “What seems to be working, and what’s not?”
Daily log screens provide a snapshot of any particular day’s interventions and behaviors. Users may also graph symptoms and monitor compliance over periods of time. These daily logs and trend reports may be emailed (in PDF format), so that parents and other caregivers can review useful information on their search to discover the unique patterns and trends experienced by individuals with autism spectrum disorders (ASD).
AutismTrack™ gives parents, central figures in the autism community, more control. Without a convenient tool to track what’s occurring from day to day, parents often feel confused and overwhelmed with treatment options – but they needn’t feel this way any longer.
* EASY TO USE: It takes only a few minutes to enter the day’s information. AutismTrack™ doesn’t bog parents down with long surveys – information is entered in a simple, easily understood format.
* CUSTOM JOURNALING: Caregivers can add their own interventions and behaviors to the standard data sets available within the app, and can add notes to supplement compliance checklists and sliding-scale behavior ratings.
* ANY PERSON, ANY TIME: Multiple caregivers can track a single child, which is useful in achieving “consensus” around the child’s current level of performance, or in simply confirming whether or not medications were already administered for the day. AutismTrack™ runs on the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad (an Internet connection is required).
* EMAILABLE AND PRINTABLE REPORTS: Tracked data is available in an emailable and printable form, so that caregivers can provide reporting to educators, researchers, doctors, and friends.
* SERVER-BASED: Caregivers who register to use AutismTrack™ can rest assured that if their device gets lost or breaks, data is recoverable through HandHold Adaptive’s secure server.
About Handhold Adaptive®:
Founded in 2008 by the parents of a young boy with autism, HandHold Adaptive® launched iPrompts®, a #1 picture-prompting app for caregivers of those with special needs, in May of 2009. AutismTrack™ is designed under the same quality standards, with input from autism research experts, and programming expertise from a database architect with 20 years’ experience in securely managing user data.
Users of AutismTrack™ are required to agree to a standard User Agreement that, among other things, requires a HIPAA waiver and an acknowledgment that HandHold Adaptive, LLC does not recommend any medications or treatments, and does not provide any medically diagnostic information.
In the future, HandHold Adaptive® hopes that AutismTrack™ can help improve autism research, as aggregate data from households may one day be provided to researchers looking to better understand causes and treatment options. The information you enter using AutismTrack™ may play an important role in fighting autism!
Tested by Aspiritech (www.aspiritech.com), a non-profit organization with a mission to solve the employment challenge of individuals with Asperger's syndrome and high functioning autism.

Not worth it at all
The only "data collection" for behaviors is by using a slider to adjust a percentage-- but that really only applies if you are actually calculating a percent. Completely inappropriate and inaccurate for actually measuring frequency of a behavior (i.e. how many aggressions today). The user is supposed to slide and select a percentage along a continuum from "desirable" to "not desirable"-- again, that's not actually data collection, it's not something you can measure by percent, it's a subjective opinion. I would never base any decisions on behavior "data" that is collected this way because it's not actual data, and is in fact very misleading. Even for behaviors that could be measured by % occurrence, the app recommends sliding the slider up to reflect level of desirability, not an actual percentage score. The app should allow for actual data collection (how many times a behavior occurred, or even a simple yes/no for did it occur today, or maybe a way to measure how long it occurred for). Not worth $50 and absolutely can't claim that it tracks data on behaviors. To be honest it would be irresponsible to base any programming decisions on behavior data collected from this app. It may be useful in tracking what meds and diet were given, but you can't then determine how those interventions impacted behavior because you're not actually taking data on behavior!
I love it!
This has made my life so much easier! Now, all my data is in one spot rather than in several binders/notebooks. In the past I have used one binder for behavioral data and another for medical interventions. This is very easy to use, you can add whatever therapy, behavior issue, medication that you want & keep track of it all in one area. I can email the reports to myself so that I can clearly see what's going on. My favorite feature is the "notes" section. Each day I check off the meds my son has taken, then go to the "notes" section, where I may notes on how he's doing overall. Any changes, good or bad, can be noted in that section. I love it! Definitely a must for anyone doing biomedical treatment.
Powerful little app for $1!
Does a lot for a buck! Track just about anything and you can view graphs on screen or send them to doctors or anyone on your care team. A nice resource for autism parents and now at a very low cost.
