What's New in Version 1.4
This update resolves the issue that has corrupted save games with v1.3. Apologies for this error.
General Bug Fixes and Optimization
Hear me out:
About the game/update, it removes the Sonic 4.2 ad, it corrects the glitch that deleted the save file, and it retains the subtle gameplay tweak that made Sonic run like he does in the console versions. Now here's my rant: As much as I like this game for what it is, Sega should realize that this game is competing with Megaman 9&10, New Super Mario Bros, Donkey Kong Country Returns, Kirby Return to Dreamland, Rayman Origins, and Sonic 3 & Knuckles. This is a good game, don't get me wrong, but it's silly litte things that bring it down like the physics qnd instrumentation. I don't believe Sonic 4 Episodes 1 & 2 can be brought to perfection through patches, but I think they should try to redeem this series with Episode 3, making it more like Sonic 3K and Generations, only with more original ideas that can actually stand up to its competitors. Also, there's plenty of fan-games floating around on the internet that I'd say are the most effective (and sane) suggestions to what people expect from Sonic Team. (It beats watching a 30 year old man rolling around in pampers that used to be a customer of yours.) I can only type so much in an App Review, right now, I'll just suggest porting Sonic 3K to the iDevices for now.
Almost doesn't count.
Sonic 4 has the potential to be a great game on the iPhone 5. However, due to the slippery controls coupled with lack of support for the iPhone 5's larger screen, the experience of an otherwise great platformer greatly hindered. The game has great level design and decent graphics, but they alone aren't enough to warrant a purchase for the title. The final complain, while minor would greatly improve the gameplay experience; screen orientation. The game remains locked in the same place even when you are holding the phone in the other direction. This coupled with the placement of the headphone jack makes for an unpleasant control experience that only add to the frustration of the on screen controls and letter boxed visuals.
My final advice is to hold off on purchasing the title until sega adds the needed support needed to play properly.
Casino night and labyrinth zones act 2
You know sega that on the wii version of this game casino night zone act 2 road of cards is way better than the thousand point challenge on iPod, iPhone, iPad. I'm not going to pay 1,500 wii points for this same game for two levels that are different. On Labyrinth zone act 2, same concept. On the wii version, sonic does not ride the mine cart the whole level. The level on the wii version is called world of darkness and sonic holds a torch and blows walls up which gives people new passages. I don't know about you but I think the sega corporation should work on replacing act 2 of both zones and make them like the wii version so people don't have to spend all their wii points on this game just for 2 levels. Also Sega you could really work on this retina display it is horrible. I hope you will take this in concideration and update this game WITH OUT DELETING ANYONE'S DATA. just think about it please.
