Awesome app to compare wireless signals

I've been using this app through Sprints network overhaul to track my speeds and provide data to sprint about the quality of service that I was getting.

One thing to keep in mind is that this apps data is dependent on actual real users using the app to measure signal strength. It's a double bladed sword though, it's great to have real data, but if no one has used the app in your area the maps are empty. But then it's your time to shine and make that map colorful.

Awesome app. Thanks root metrics!

No Privacy and You Better Have Unlimited Data

The new privacy policy says “you are no longer anonymous to us”, and “we may share that information”. In other words, here comes the spam from RootMetrics and their “partners”.

Additionally, the new testing procedure requires you to test data, which chews up your data plan if you don’t have unlimited data. Run a test three or four times on a low-end data plan, and you’ve consumed your data for the month.

Great resource to compare wireless carriers in my area

RootMetrics' CoverageMap app provides extremely useful data so I can compare different wireless carriers (e.g. Verizon, AT&T) and see what speed people are getting at locations I frequent. They also provide call quality statistics as well if LTE is available at those areas.
