The AI players are too easy
It becomes apparent quickly that the AI runs on a very specific value system for properties, especially on the most difficult settings. With this in mind, it's easy to predict what deals would appease the computer players with minimal cost. The AI never challenges you. They don't take other people's standings into consideration or will notice if you desperately want a certain property. To the AI, all the properties are worth only a fraction more of their original price and do not increase the price of a property depending on how many properties an opponent has on the set. I swear, I was able to trade Baltic Avenue, Vermont Avenue, and both utilities to acquire Broadway on the hardest difficulty setting! My AI opponent had no properties on the sets I traded with him and I was able to acquire both purple properties! The AI needs some common sense pronto!
Space also can be an issue with this game. Why does a game of monopoly need to take a whole GB? I'd suggest doing away with the other 3D sets because they don't add much to the game.
On the positive side, tabletop multiplayer works well and is fairly easy to use. An option to play in a 2D top-down perspective would be nice though. Online multiplayer would be great as well if you can not fix the AI.
Monopoly is one of my all time favorite board games, but $9.99 is too much for an incomplete game. Hold out for a sale if you are interested in playing the tabletop mode.
5 for Human to Human play, 0 for AI
For multi person play, this is one of the best Apps I own. If you love the board game, you will love this even more! The game moves faster and enables you to complete a game in 90 minutes as a result!
That said, if you play the AI, it is the worst! After playing about 100 rounds involving AI players ( sometimes in human games, other times just me against three of them) it is clear that the dice are tied into the game that assists the AI in making it harder for you. This becomes very evident in the start of almost every game where the human player will consistently find themselves landing on non buying opportunities that often involve fines or going to jail. ( 4 times around the board, three times landing in jail?- Happened to me in 2/3 separate back to back games)
The AI on the other hand seems to very consistently get the right rolls, time and time again. This not a matter of poor sport, this is a matter of poor game design.
Please fix the game by disconnecting the dice from the strategy and let the best player win!!!!
How to beat the AI
For those of you accusing the AI of cheating, here’s a tip to beat it every time…on hard difficulty. Number 1, get all the railroads. Number two, get a monopoly on ANY property…the lowest valued 3 set is fine. Now for the biggie…for ALL other property, tell the computer you pass on buying it. Now you need to bid as high as you think you can and still let the computer win the property. Once the AI has a property, he will bid ridiculous amounts to get a monopoly. He will mortgage property and eventually go broke. Your railroads are a place for him to land in all 4 paths. No other property can say this. Chance cards also send him to railroads. Make insane trades to get a railroad from him. You’ll still win. And whatever the AI offers for a trade, make him add another property and he’ll usually go for it. Good luck. The main gripe about this game is the constant ridiculous graphics that slow the game down. Select no animations and it’ll still go ape shoot if a double is rolled.
