Intellicast vs Storm...gotta be kidding
Intellicast over Storm by pi (infinity). By far the best weather app out there. Head & shoulders above all the rest. No silly scrolling like weather ch & accu wthr are using. Love the versatility & fast operation. The tools & easy layering options are fantastic. I'm a bit of a weather hound who at one time had several weather apps for various interests. Now I have just a few & ask myself every day why do I keep the others. Deleted accu weather after they're last update & I'm about to delete weather channel's with they're latest update. I depend on weather detail on the job & planning the next day's activities. For those of us working outside in the Deep South, knowing temp & humidity levels ahead of time is a lifesaver...BRAVO!!! DONT CHANGE IT, PLEASE!!! STORM is not an adequate replacement, I've been using both for a couple of months & find it hard to believe that the "powers that be" would make this change. Just take the few new features that storm adds & add them to Intellicast. Storm is far more difficult to read & navigate than Intellicast & Storm's radar is not as crisp & clear. Please don't end Intellicast...just read the reviews & fire the guy that thought Storm can replace Intellicast. Or better yet, with Storm just try to see what the temp, humidity & dewpoint were 6 hours ago...
Intellicast is Superior to Storm
It is ridiculous that all the weather apps are being bought out by inferior product lines that share the same dull fuzzy platform. I stopped viewing The Weather Channel because they stopped serious weather reporting. Intellicast WORKS, provides superb intel, is easy to navigate, is platform stable, is user intuitive. Storm is none of those. The monopoly on weather has gotten out of hand. If I wanted smooth edged circles and blurred high def radar I would stick with other apps. Where is the selection of multi locale push notifications? Not in Storm. Check out the other "updated" apps - they all have the same blurry radar and even the same grainy grey desktop that flips to settings. I'm not interested in special effects, just accurate weather reporting. When Weather Underground got bought I knew it was getting harder for free enterprise to succeed over marketing glam weather. Intellicast has been, by far, the best there is. Storm can't even deploy an ad free product when ad free is purchased. The graphics are low res, the screen violates visual theory, fonts too small, forecasting dismally short. The screen is compressed in aspect ratio to 1/3 of the former visual field. Visuals are too dark. I do not like this forced change at all.
Certainly better than Storm
One of the things I like better about this app is the 'Future' feature, it calculates what a storm is going to change by using evolving weather patterns and pressures. The Storm app takes the last radar picture then moves it ahead one hour... that is NOT giving me the best guesstimate of what the future weather may be, and it is a waste of time. And this brings up another feature that the Intellicast app has that Storm doesn't, it shows the changing future weather for the next several hours, instead of the one hour that the Storm app shows. Storm is useless when looking for possible weather changes, especially when traveling.
It is a shame they are going to discontinue this app as it is far superior to the Storm app. I don't understand what the developers were thinking when they decided to get rid of one app and replace it with something far inferior...
