This is among my few favorite games on both my iPod touch and iPad. It has great style, smooth graphics, and cool sounds.
It also has some flaws. Such as the orientation, it only lets you hold it in landscape, with the home button to the right. I would prefer the other way round. And the graphics still need some work for the new iPad's retina display. It looks OK, but not great. Pease fix it.
But most of all, this game has quite a lot of bugs. Sometimes when I finish a level, even though al the cubes are gone, it doesn't think I'm done. It just sits there. All my progress wasted.
And sometimes there will be a cube that just gets stuck and spins around, but doesn't get anywhere. If this cube happens to be out of range, you just can't finish the level.
Please get the bugs fixed.
The gameplay is nice, the balls and powerups make the game more fun, the particle effects are nice, varied types of cubes to battle, and lots of achievements to get! Overall this is a good game. When you haven't played the game and you buy it, not being sure how good it will be, you end up playing it for like an hour. If you're really cautious on picking games to buy, you can go download the holiday gift version and get a taste of a Christmas themed version. The 3D style makes it a lot more interesting. It's like you're using a sling shot. Kinda. Somewhat of a tower defense game even though it's not in a tower. It's in a circle... In a cubic world. I suggest you get this game now! It's worth the 99 cents :D
lol long review :b
A Wonderful, Stylish Experience
Cubes Vs. Spheres is one of those games that just works on a touch screen. The game looks beautiful, despite its minimalist graphics. The weapons are diverse and interesting, and the gameplay is fast-paced. My only complaints are petty things. The game does not feature support for the new iPhone's elongated screen, but it still works fine in a normal aspect ratio. The game does not utilize the gyroscope, but slide controls work very well. I would like to see upgrades for the spheres in a later update, but they work very well currently. This is a wonderful game, and absolutely worth getting. A tad short (40 levels), but loads of fun.
