What's New in Version 2.2.2
Awesome game! But not really for me...
This game is amazing! I like how it portrays dragons as intelligent creatures, unlike recent movies where they are (almost) mindless creatures dominated by humans. However. I'm not the magical type, other than the fact that dragons in this game a freakishly deformed and sometimes crazy looking... For instance the midnight dragon is a... Butterfly??!!! How the frick did that happen??? Must be the breeding cave ( we don't know how it works)???? Also it seems to me as supporting evolutionary beliefs, like the plant dragon, which looks like a bird mated with a lizard and made that. Or as evolution states, reptiles turned into birds( I for one would like to see a bird/dinosaur skeleton) and in the plasma dragons discription says, "a wizard saw a bolt of lighting hit a pond, and created a dragon" what the heck??? No amount of energy put into anything will ever create life. If it took lighting and shot it at water, he would( I he was lucky) find (for an instant) plasma, not a living, breathing creature. If you are willing to put aside the freakish combinations, lack of gender, and nonsensical dragons that sometimes appear (double rainbow??????) this game is fun and enjoyable, but some people (I know a few) would pick this game up, and put it back down after about a days exploring.
I have been playing this game for years, obsessively checking on my dragons several times a day, but I'm afraid the love affair is about to end. For a while now it has frustrated me that everything costs thousands of gems to buy, but I only get about 12 gems a week. I have almost 209 million coins, but everything I need to buy costs gems, not coins. Apparently the game-makers are trying to force players to spend real cash to buy gems, and I refuse to spend my hard-earned money on pretend gems to buy pretend dragons! I have continued to play the game anyway, telling myself that the challenge is part of the fun.
But now... Twice in the past month the game-makers have introduced new dragons, then discontinued them 3 days later. Sometimes it takes over a hundred tries to breed the dragon you want, and that simply cannot be done in 3 days! Your only hope for getting one of these dragons is to buy it rather than breeding it, and the only way you can buy it is to spend real cash to get the gems. I am always up for a challenge, but I am not going to waste my time playing a game that is impossible to win. If my odds of winning $500 million playing the lottery are greater than my odds of getting a Victory Dragon, why bother trying?
This game blows.
I get it, iPhone games are a business, and business must be good in order to keep the servers running, but Backflip Studios has gone too far and gotten much too greedy (considering Backflip Studios now belongs to Hasbro, there's no need for the outrageous cost demands).
For veteran players such as myself (since 2011), holding the level cap for months and then suddenly choosing to raise it makes all of my previous efforts seem like a complete waste of time. Months and months of wasted experience points I will NEVER get back...how does one expect to reach the next highest level? Sorry, I refuse to use real money on something so mundane.
Also, this new "update" has proven far more destructive than beneficial, as I cannot even open the game to play. That's very considerate of you BF/Hasbro, put out a rare dragon that's only available to breed for 3 days, and conveniently make the game unavailable during that time period. Awesome.
I swear, if the game suddenly begins working within the last hours of the victory dragon's availability, so as to provide the user a chance to "buy it with gems," I'm losing my sh** and deleting this nonsense for good.
