What's New in Version 2.9.1
This really is my favorite game however, the events. Yes, there have been many complaints about them, so I may be erring on the side of repetitive. I was not going to say anything until my latest realization, which comes after several annoyances. I like the idea of the events, collecting things to earn cool prizes. It gets to be less fun when you realize you can by the say, the most recent habitat that you need to collect over 1,000 eggs for is for sale in the market for 2 million coins (I earn that much in the game on a daily basis). Then, you find that it is extremely improbable after working for a week to get those eggs, that you can get one of the limited eggs. I just put in over 200 eggs to find that the progress bar moved less than a 16th of the way towards completion. This proved to me that the event is not for fun. It really is for PROFIT. You need to buy (with real money) the eggs to get everything. That would be brilliant for marketing if it wasn't for the fact that anybody who would pay money would have before half-way through the event. Luckily though, this reminded me why I often take months of a time off of playing this game. Because I never will pay for this 'free' game. And I should not feel pressured to.
Really, Backflip? REALLY?
Okay, it's time I say this...
I love this game, I really do. Then everything changed when the events came. They were fun at first. Then Backflip got money-hungry. Nowadays they are every month. For a person who actually has a life, this is incredibly stressful, and they are getting incredibly repetitive and boring. Even worse, some dragons are proving near impossible to breed, forcing you to buy them. It's getting ridiculous. As a longtime player, I have been forced to sink real world $$$ into this game. I do iap sometimes for gems, but now being forced to sink my hard-earned cash into whatever item I have to use to get rewards. Please Backflip, stop the huge events every month. Your valentine event was the perfect size. You are squeezing your longtime players for cash, and I may have to end up quitting if this continues...
Please Backflip, don't go the route that Game of War did, please. Stop with these stupid events and impossible to breed dragons. Stop your greed.
Lots of fun!
I originally got this game for my six-year-old to play. I had to download a different game where he could tend and breed animals though as I fell in love with this game myself!
I like that you don't have to do a lot of time-intensive things (like training, which gets old fast!) to level-up the dragons. My son loves to hatch and feed the dragons as well as the plant the crops for them. I like to breed all the hybrids and special dragons.
I also like that the in game purchase options and ads are not flaunted or thrown in your face all the time like other games do. I do wish there was a way to find friends more easily to send and receive gems with.
Great game! My kudos to the programmers!
(Edit) I have to add on to my original review now that the game has special collection quests that are impossible to complete without spending real-world money. This is my only complaint about this game, and will be what causes me to stop playing. It is a great little game, otherwise.
