Ratings and Reviews
First it was the little things...
...that were always frustrating about this app: occasional glitches in gameplay, menu items and text that wouldn’t display properly, unresponsive/inconsistently responding controls when reading through game instructions. Now with iPhone X, the resolution/display issues are exacerbated so drastically that the games are unplayable. And if the length of time they have allowed those “little things” I mentioned to linger without the attention required in order for this to be a really solid app, polished through and through, I won’t hold my breath for the resolution fixes needed for it to work properly on iPhone X. Can’t give this app one star, only because the game selection and attention to detail in modeling them is second to none, and I’m sure it took many, many hours to achieve. But it sure is tempting to do so, given that an update is required for this app to even be usable again. I’ve heard excellent things about Pinball Arcade on other platforms, but on iOS, it’s always seems that this app wasn’t getting the same level of care.
We are sorry for the issues you've had to endure on iOS for so long. We have great plans for large improvements on this platform which will be coming to fruition soon. There have been many challenges to overcome and this is by no means our final product. We cannot discuss specifically the setbacks our developers have had to deal with but we are expecting vast improvements that will hopefully earn some stars back for your review.
Have a good day, and thank you for your support. :)
I thought it was just me, but turns out I’m not the only person who has these issues. And I’ve had this game since it came out and only had three tables. I have tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it and it made no difference. First, this game crashes a lot. It could be me but it seems to occur more often when you select certain tables. But it’s the other random and odd glitches that literally make this game near impossible to play well. Guaranteed you’ll tap the screen and one of the flippers won’t respond occasionally. That alone makes this game virtually unplayable. The left arrow to scroll through the various balls doesn’t seem to work most of the time. I thought there was something wrong with the touchscreen on my phone. I have a weird line that always displays through some of the text. The tables under your favorites disappear and reappear. A lot of the glitches are annoying. But the flippers flat out not responding at times is just unforgivable and needs to be addressed. This used to be my favorite game to play on my phone, but no more.
We are now able to allocate extra time to address some of the things that you have described in your review here. We hope to keep you with us as we are implementing new UI updates and other improvements.
We hope for your continued patience, and would like to thank you for your long time support. If you can give us just a bit more time we think we may be able to get back into your good graces.
Please have a nice day. :)
Is "pretty good" good enough?
Dec 2017 - after receiving feedback from the support team, my hopes were raised. I was excited about the two latest releases. It turns out that they released these with major problems that totally affect the gameplay. These are EM machines, so it seems like these should be easy fixes. So far, nothing. It feels like it’s one step forward and two steps back. Buying tables remains risky. Maybe it works. Maybe it doesn’t. For now I know I bought tables that are technically defective. Disappointed.
If you want a game thats not bad, but not great, this could be for you. Do you like apps where the developers ignore most/all customer feedback? Do you like apps that have buggy tables years after those bugs are pointed out? Then this is the pinball simulation for you! From a music track you cannot shut off to the most bland and ugly black menus under the sun, this app has gone from something really good to something I regret getting sucked into.
Don't hold up your hopes for any decent tables to be released. Outside of an occasional familiar name, most tables are obscure Gottlieb tables. If you get this app, set the bar low. Set it very low so you might not be disappointed.
Update- there is no company that listens to feedback less than this one. If you choose to buy any tables, it's a crapshoot. It won't matter much anyway, you'll get so tired of the music you will just stop playing like I have.
We are sorry for the issues you experienced on your device. We hope that the title music mute option can be added soon, and our next patch release will solve the conflicts you are having. We hope to earn a better review in the future and get some stars back with your post.
Thank you for the support and your patience with our work. :)
