Don't risk it
From the start, this app was very difficult to use. It would not sync with other apps in order to record meal info, logging veggies is not user friendly. I was able to check-in to the gym, but that's it. You're supposed to also be able to log steps and activities, but again... it would not sync with other apps so that didn't work.
Over the course of 5 days, I sent requests for help multiple times (I didn't want to get charged when I WAS doing me part but the app wasnt working right!). I never got a response until the 5th day, when I got a notification on my phone saying my account was deleted!!? I checked my email and the only response I had just gotten was someone named Aaron saying my account was deleted. That's it! No answer to questions, nothing!
This app will not be successful as long as they have such poor customer service and the app doesn't work properly. I wouldn't risk the frustration ... you're risking losingmoney the app doesn't work properly and they don't respond to your issues! I like the idea though ... I hope someone else picks it up and can make an app that actually works and provide some decent customer service.
Fantastic but alas they're closing
NOTE: Pact will soon be shut down. The last pacts that users can participate in will end on July 9, 2017, and you will receive your final rewards on July 11, 2017. Once we reach July 11, 2017 we highly encourage you to request your rewards - you’ve earned them!
I started out with 3 gym activities per week, and graduated up to 5. I go to the gym 3 days a week and do 10,000 steps on my FitBit the other 2 days. This app really keeps me motivated. I love the cash rewards too. I earn a little over $1 a week, and when that accumulates to over $10, I withdraw that amount from PayPal. It should be easy to make $50/year. Their customer service is top notch.
Only negative is that their requirement to spend at least 30 minutes at the gym is too lenient -- I spend that amount of time just in the locker room.
Terrible first experience
I downloaded the app simply to check it out and see how it works. I went through it and looked at how much I'd be wagering for the different "pacts" but never actually opted to participate in one. I simply looked at the wager amounts. Next time I opened the app it had automatically signed me up for one of the pacts and doesn't give you a way to delete them, simply pause them. Connecting map my run and my fitness pal is also absolutely impossible! It either tells me there's an error or I don't have the app, yet I've had them both for over a year. Seems like a good idea, but right now I would NEVER recommend it to anyone. With this many bugs who knows if anyone even ends up getting paid.
