What's New in Version 9.6.0
[Bug fix] Stability improvements and other bug fixes
We read all reviews and are working very hard to make Dolphin better each day.
So please keep sending in feedback to firstname.lastname@example.org, we're listening!
I like the way bookmarks are arranged; have no use for the gestures feature or syncing between versions for other platforms. Unfortunately it crashes on my iPad. A lot. And it doesn't crash gracefully; no "oops, can we restore your open tabs?" option. It will crash every time you reopen Dolphin until you close the offending page...which can't be done without un-installing and re-installing it, wiping out all your bookmarks. I mentioned this to the developers, but apparently it's not important enough to address. The only solution is to change the settings to not save all open tabs when you close. Not an elegant solution, but it saves having to re-install it and rebuild all your bookmarks when it crashes, which it will inevitably do, pretty much every day. I find myself using another browser more now on my iPad though I still prefer the way Dolphin arranges its bookmarks. I would give it a higher rating if they would fix the frequent crashing.
No easy way to import bookmarks from other third party iOS Web browsers.
I really wanted to switch to Dolphin Browser, but without this capability, your Web Browser isva serious non-starter for me.
I have an extensive and organised list of bookmarks and with no way to easily transfer these, either directly or through a more comprehensive set of alternative apps, using your browser is not an option for me as my time is better spent doing other things than recreating years of website bookmarks.
You guys need to expand your browser functionality to extensively mimic Perfect Web Browser.
This browser is truly the best done Web browser, but developement stopped over a year, ago and there have been no updates since.
If you can solve the issue of importing bookmarks from ANY iOS web browser and incorporate a LOT more of Perfect Web Browser's feature set, I will switch to Dolphin Browser in a New York Minute.
Could be better
This browser doesn't support full screen when watching embedded videos. Also, I know there's no flash player in the iOS version but the other day I got a message that flash player needed to be updated when trying to watch an embedded video even though I was able to watch the video on the same website in Safari. I thought that was strange since it also doesn't have flash player.
