Oct. 18 update: I cannot log in anymore. I keep getting a failed login message and the password retrieve procedure does not work, either.
So, either Wikinvest is down or somebody is hacking into their account database.
Let me start by saying that I love the concept behind this app.
I would like to see a few changes that would make it perfect:
It is impossible to track stocks listed on foreign exchanges, that is a must;
It is awesome to have a snapshot of the key metrics of one's portfolio, like it's Beta, average PE or average yield, except that those figures are completely wrong (probably the reason why the analytics are a beta version).
I have been using the Bloomberg app for over a year and would have probably switched to Wikinvest for the portfolio analytics feature, but as it stands this app is not yet 100% ready for prime time.
I will keep watching because it could be huge.
July 9, 2012 update:
It is still impossible to edit the positions from within the app, foreign markets are not available and the analytics have barely improved...
I am giving up on it until a major upgrade/improvement solves all those issues.
This app is just unreal. I am an avid investor and I have my money split across three accounts and this app ties everything together! The data and analytics are incredibly useful, and seeing that I'm beating the S&P handily sure doesn't hurt!
The one thing I would consider discarding is the 'reasons to be bearish / bullish'. They appear to be written by uneducated individuals and the lower the professionalism of the app.
I agree with another user - it would be great to be able to show a net liquidating value by including cash positions as well. I have no desire for the app to show my spending patterns and whatnot, but it'd be nice to see a single number representing all of one's liquid assets.
The best investing app out there!!
This is the only app I have found that links your existing portfolio securely to its network and tracks the performance on a daily basis.
There is a slight delay to real time numbers.I love using this app because it helps me monitor my portfolio even when I'm at work. It removes the hassle of logging into my brokerage account and using there clunky mobile app just to check the market.
