What's New in Version 1.3
-NEW 'Back to Black' 80s style skin has been added!
I think seeing all the record players on storage wars is rubbing off.
I don't usually like record players of any kind but watching storage wars is changing my mind.
For me the ui is easy to use but i'm with the other person i hate how the music crates are messed up, mine even more so because most of my mp3's aren't even tagged or tagged right. So most cases in my are by album which i don't know album's worth squat. So at least there is a search function.
As for sound quality i have no clue, my headphones i have are bose qc2s and everything sounds awesome through them doesn't matter what i'm using them for.
So i can't critic the sound quality. But i love watching the record needle move as the song plays, ironically that is my fav thing about this app.
Good but can be better
While the audio equalisation is nice and warm, the interface needs work. I bought this hoping it would get me better sound which it did but the drawback is the lack of a playlist so i can queue up the songs. Having to change each vinyl after each song is ridiculous in today's world. The beauty of the analogue sound.. NOT the hassle of plopping each one back and forth from the turntable. If i wanted that, id be using my turntable!
Secondly, the music doesnt complete. All songs play and end abruptly without finishing the song. I sincerely hope the developers can fix both this with an update.
Good sound, bad GUI
I really like the sound this app puts out, it's way better than the terrible one size fits all EQ presets built into the iPhone. The drawback is the need to pre-build play lists, the shortened and unreadable media names the app shows, the lack of a shuffle button and no real controls to listen to your music collection. I get it, it has a cool record player animation, but an app built around swapping 45s on a turntable one at a time stinks. If people wanted to do that we'd still be listening to 45s.
Keep the animation and the cool idea of using milk crates to view your "LP" collection, but make it more functional with readable names, iTunes based playlists and up to date controls.
