What's New in Version 1.9992
We're continuing to make OnSong better with bug fixes and new features. Please check out the release notes for this version at: http://onsongapp.com/releases/1.9992
Just keeps surprising me--in the very best of ways!
I'm using the app in conjunction with other peeps to learn and perform songs.
I have used literally thousands of apps (software, applications, operating systems, etc.) since my first PC (an Amiga) in 1989. This one is right up there in my top five, all time.
It seems to do everything I want to do, then I get to a point where I think "nice, but I wish it would do 'X'..."--then lo and behold I find out, with just a little very intuitive and easy digging, that indeed it does! When I was thinking it would be nice if the editing tool had a 'find/replace' feature - there it was. When I thought I had a clever idea - how nice it would be for the app to tie a song from my library to the scrolling song - voila! Already there. Sharing among band members? Already in place. I can go on and on -- the developers are obviously musicians who had their own (enlightened) self-interest in mind.
Yes, on the down-side, cloud-syncing isn't fully automatic, and maybe iCloud sharing isn't there--but I've been using DropBox with no problems, for syncing among different band members. And the OnCue function seems to work as described--haven't used it enough to really be able to say much about it yet, but what we've done has made it clear that anything that was a bit off was clearly down to our lack of preparation rather than any fault of the app.
Just gotta say THANKS!!! for making one of the best apps ever!
iPhone 6+ Works Great !
Recently heard about this and purchased all it has to offer. I must say, I am impressed. It's great to be able to transpose songs on the fly like this and have an entire database of music with my own notation on it right at my fingertips. I have this on my iPad and iPhone 6+ and I can never go back to paper. It's just to stinkin cool. Also recently just got the 4 channel foot pedal to roll with it and I am amazed. Love it and so far no major issues. One issue I was having is sometimes the scroll would get stuck and it wouldn't scroll well every once in a while, but they said they addressed this in the latest update. Either way, it's a total winner.
By far the best friend of guitar players
The few quirks are disappearing with each upgrade, and it is a great tool for any musician. The editing tools are the best I have seen for any program at any price (wake up, Apple and Microsoft-those little arrows are magic). Now that they have abandoned their efforts to second guess your copyright authority, it is even better. This is the best, least expensive and most effective way to to access your music. Caveat: they may still have an agreement with Rockin with the Cross to make their charts unavailable if you stop subscribing to RWTC. Check that out before you use the services together.
