I don't think Klout is sure how to keep their users engaged, so they are testing the waters with providing articles of interest based on what each user is known to be influential about. It's an interesting spin on the original use for Klout. The only problem is in only found about 50% of the recommended articles of interest to me, and about 2% of them something I would even want to post on any of my feeds. But the other concern, is why is Klout encouraging us to share news and more nonsense? Shouldn't social media influence be based on your own experiences and life's events, and your audiences reception to those things shared? Social media isn't only about regurgitating articles written by others. I think their entire approach should be revisited. Ever since they started this new platform my score has gone from 77 to 65 and I have more likes and more engagement on my posts than ever before. Something doesn't seem right...I almost feel like I'm supposed to share their nonsense to keep my high score, but their nonsense isn't what keeps my friends/followers engaged.
Useful app, but needs some tweaking
I really like this app, so there is no question that I am overall satisfied with it. However, I would say it's going to take a little more tinkering and several more updates to work as intended. Unfortunately, the Topics you select are just keywords and there is no guarantee the articles you receive will actually be related to your Topics. For example, one of my Topics is Horse Breeding, the article I received for it today is on mining in Australia. I would like to see how articles are selected tweaked a little more.
Navigation of the app is simple and easy to understand. The design is pleasing to the eye and fun. Additionally, I have had no performance issues with the app, such as crashing or freezing.
Overall, this is an interesting app to measure your social media influence and I would recommend it to anyone serious about spreading content.
Used to be THE TRUTH
Although I am still a member and want to give less than 3 stars but can't, Klout team please get it back to the way things used to be. Now I never liked how little the other social media tools (not FB) weighed on your overall score but I stuck with it any way and invited many others to join me. But now it just seems like a wanna be (***ked-In) and a watered down (Rhymes with Poot-Suite). My perks don't update, although I get emails that I am eligible for new ones. I was told that was being fixed so I'll wait to see. I know there Is revenue to be made by adding other services to your app but I'm not sure you made the right choices. I just doesn't feel like me old Klout, am I a big baby?? Oh well, I'll probably still be here if you don't make any new changes but wanted you to at least know how I feel. #missoldtimes
