Customer Reviews

Pay to play model is definitely 'meh', but usually I toss in a bit of $$ if I'm impressed or intrigued.
It's quite obvious there wasn't a boxing consultant or anything close to it used when the game was constructed. Graphics are very good for the platform. Music is decent. Physics and gameplay are pretty mediocre, with missed haymaker-like punches immediately recoverable by the AI, and hit detection is flawed. Height of punches and type of blocking are not usable. No sense of momentum in the matches either. An opponent (or you) can literally have the same ability to fight if heavily damaged as minute one. Stamina for punching power is NOT affected by getting hit, nor is endlessly punching away an influence on your overall fatigue or health. I understand that many may like this model. I don't.
Mechanics-wise there are some glaring miscues as well. I understand punishing a quitting player, but any crash or battery-mandated close will result in lost 'stamina' that is used for stat boosts in fights. This boosting is essential since the fighters are on rails and immovable. I'll leave alone the Advertisement frequency since it's unavoidable in this kind of game. I did not test multiplayer, but you can read the negative reviews about it if you desire. Decent, but could have been a lot better.

Scam and dishonest

I notice they deleted my very complete and very honest review. So rather than waste time writing it again I'll sum it up. But I will start by saying that you have to wonder what they are hiding and why they feel they have to delete negative reviews. That alone should make you think twice about this game. Anyway this game is a scam. It's designed to drain your resources so that you inevitably have to buy more resources (stats, levels, coins, cash) with REAL money. There are opportunities to elevate your resources without paying real money but it's not reasonable because the elevation is too slow and it means you can only play the game effectively once a day. If that. You can also watch ads in exchange for "fake money" and but upgrades to you nicer that way but that is also limited because they only let you do watch 1 a day. These pay to play games are like casinos. Designed to keep you spending, and enjoyable just enough to keep you motivated to keep playing...and therefor to keep spending REAL money just to play viably. It's scammy. That's why they delete negative reviews that criticize and expose the scam. By the way after a week of trying to be patient with it I finally uninstalled it.

MUST PLAY. RECOMMENDED FOR ALL (except those tight on cash)

Great game, very addictive. I just can't give it five stars for 2 reasons.
1: It's got a few bugs with hit boxes. For example, the fist clearly connects, but the opponent takes no damage. This could be a mesh issue, and could easily be fixed by allowing the player to actually move their character closer to the enemy.
2: The micro transactions. There is too much gear that cannot be matched with in game currency. For example, the best gloves you can buy with coins give you +5 strength. The best you can buy with gold doubles that amount. That wouldn't be so bad if gaining gold wasn't so insanely time consuming, and if not as much relied entirely on gold. For example, if you could earn gold through TapJoy, or maybe if gold was earned after EVERY match alongside the coins, just in smaller amounts. I understand the necessity of micro transactions on the mobile platform. I truly do. But it is a little over done here.
