Customer Reviews

Keeps improving all the time, but not perfect.

I use Chrome as my primary browser on three desktop platforms so I've been using it here on iOS for a while. I'm pleased that Google Chrome continues to improve and make my user experience better. The addition of password manager support in the latest update is most welcome. That was my biggest annoyance before, and the new "pull to reload" gestures are also a great improvement.

Chrome is not without drawbacks though: due to API limits, it still uses the slow JavaScript engine on iOS and it still uses non-standard gestures. E.g the standard iOS "back" swipe gesture, instead switches to other open windows.

Overall though, the syncing experience is great and I appreciate other apps that let me "open in Chrome."

Navigation is neither quick nor easy

All the intended features work fine. But the biggest thing stopping me from switching to chrome from the "other browser" (and I do want to just to keep everything in sink with my computers) is the navigation.
First, after upgrading to iPhone 6, it's pretty hard to navigate with one hand. The back button is in the top left corner, it would be much better to move navigation to the bottom.
Second, after getting used to just being able to swipe left or right to back and forth, it's a must have, at least for me. Swiping To switch between tabs is just not useful for me at all, don't know about other people. But I go back or forward from a page in the same tab more often then I switch tabs. The navigation controls can even be left at the top if swiping to go back and forth is added.

Three Strikes And You're Garbage

Well, this is the third update now and the review below is more apt than ever. I mean, Google must be incredibly arrogant to not even attempt to fix the crashing issue. I guess they think ignoring it will make it go away and that we'll just hand over our money to them for less than nothing. Sorry, clowns. Ain't happening.

I've been using Chrome as my iPad browser for a few years. It's had sporadic problems in the past, but with this latest two updates, it's become unusable. For a short time, it worked a little better after this latest update. And then it went right back to where it was.

It may work for a few pages, but eventually, you click on a link and the little circle starts spinning. And spinning. And spinning. It never stops. You can close the tab and when you open a new tab.......nothing. So you close the app, stop in the background and start it again. And you'll be ok for a few pages until the little circle starts spinning again. And spinning. And spinning. Ad nauseum. And then the app crashes.

My guess is that Google is so busy spying on us that they've overburdened their own servers. Just another greedy right-wing Fascist corporation trying to run our lives and invade our wallets.
