Customer Reviews

I have used rover for a few sitters as well as watched a few dogs for others and initially loved the app! ....... BUT

Just recently on a stay, the person house sitting requested $40 more for the stay the day of! I had already left with no other options and couldn’t do anything but pay!! I called Rover support and was told “they leave it to the sole discretion of the sitter” and they can change, cancel, add fees, or whatever they like whenever they want!!! She also informed me they don’t insure the sitter!!! She said they “insure some things for the pets, but it’s not really defined”.

This app doesn’t insure the owners, doesn’t support the customers, doesn’t protect you or your pets, and states they are just the “intermediate between those starting their business and pet owners”! While trying to find a resolution, she HUNG UP on me! Beware of the app, anyone could be watching your animals and they can do whatever they want without penalty or support from the app who advertises them.

I'm getting a lot of sitting jobs!!!

I LOVE rover. I have gotten a lot of pet sitting and dog walking jobs. They do take 20% from your pay, but imo, it's worth it cause when you are doing a job through rover, you are insured if anything, god forbid, happens to the animals. So, the 20% is worth it. So, there really isn't anything negative. I have a group of regular clients and I get new ones all the time. I'm starting to have to turn some away. It's a great feeling that finally, after about a year, this is my career and I'm doing something I love!

Rover has been WONDERFUL

We dogsit using Rover and we use it to book sitters for our dog when we go out of town. We haven’t had a single problem with it. It tends to be cheaper than taking him to a kennel and he gets better care because he gets to spend more time with people and their dogs. The reviews are nice to make sure other sitters had good experiences too, so I don’t feel like I’m just leaving my dog with a complete stranger. I have no complaints and highly recommend it to anyone with dogs!
