What's New in Version 3.32.2
My tail wags left and right when I’m happy. I don’t know why—I think there’s a tiny puppy mastermind in there, operating it with controls. But then, as I was on a walk with my parents, I saw another puppy whose tail wags in circles instead of left and right! Who would've known!? So many different types of tails in this world. So much happy.
+ Performance improvements (I know I say this a lot—but I do mean it!)
+ Bug fixes (nobody likes fleas)
Perfect 2nd job for a dog lover
I love that I can easily connect with pet parents looking for care. I've already booked 4 new clients in less than a month, and I'm only available on weekends! I've met some great pups and some lovely neighbors, plus have found a much needed supplement to my income
The systems for displaying, arranging, and pricing services are so simple--which is great for me because I already work a full time job, and I want to invest all my pet care time in loving the fur babies!
-the added security of arranging through a platform that has all our contact information-- really reassuring for a young woman meeting strangers in their homes.
- decent insurance for emergencies during a stay
-guaranteed payment through the app. (People can't book unless their account is linked, and they're charged immediately. For their safety, Sitters don't receive that money until 2 days after service ends)
-The deducted 20% stinks, even though I do understand and appreciate what they do with it
-because all payment comes through rover and PayPal, it is taxable (read-- trackable/auditable) income. But they don't withhold, so you have to file a 1099 as an independent contractor and pay later
- If you live in an area w tons of rover sitters, the competition can make it hard to start out.
I've been using this app as an extra source of income and it's cool that clients can find my profile page and I can easily communicate with them on dates/meetings.
I really do like the app, but it needs to be fixed! The app constantly crashes for me, despite updating and restarting my phone, multiple times. It's super frustrating when I get to a client and can't start because the app won't open long enough for me to start it before it crashes. Sometimes it won't even send the rover card because it just keeps crashing, so I'll have clients worried about their pets since I've started a booking, but haven't finished since the card hasn't been sent.
I would definitely give it a better rating if they could fix this.
This app is awesome!!
I have been using Rover for a few months now as a sitter/walker and it is so convenient. As long as you have a decent signal you should have no problems having the app load for your drop in visits and walks. The only problem is that sometimes the GPS will not track me correctly on my walks due to a lack of strong signal but that's a coverage issue not a problem with the app. Other than that I have not had any problems nor do I have any complaints about the app itself
