What's New in Version 1.2
- Sign in with Facebook.
- Link and unlink your Facebook and MediaFire accounts inside the app.
- Storage usage indicator on the settings window.
For the most part, the app does what it says it does. But by today's app standards, it leaves a lot to be desired.
On the plus side, it allows live streaming of audio content. I collaborate with other musical artists via MediaFire, and it's great to listen to demos and song parts and drafts of new songs on-the-go.
On the negative side, it doesn't support landscape rotation, and it doesn't have any support for displaying long file names, which I and my collaborators use extensively. I'm always left guessing which is which on similarly named files. (This is also a problem on the MediaFire web site itself, actually.) Would it be that much to ask to have it scroll, or even be able to press something to show the entire file name?
The bottom line is it just needs a lot of polish. This looks like an app from 2 or 3 years ago… Very utilitarian and lacking in UI and UX.
Favorite host server (not the app)
I'm glad to know there's a Mediafire for my device. It's a shame I can't actually download from inside the App (or maybe I just don't know how! Haha) or upload the files I want to. But still you offer a good service in general, so here's my 5-stars rating.
It's a shame Apple won't allow developers to access the device's filesystem to upload the files I really want to upload directly from an app.
Thank you, guys.
Just sign up on the website people!
All these reviews saying you can only sign up through Facebook are wrong...just open a web browser to the Mediafire site.
I signed up on my MacbookPro, threw some MP4's in a folder & watched them on my ipad/iphone as soon as they were uploaded (streaming from the web, not taking up device storage).
I just joined this but so far has been much easier than the other sync services.
An official ipad app would be 5 stars...I just use the iphone app on both devices.
