Polyroll - Almost perfect
There are two control options, iPhone and iPad, with the iPad making the controls smaller and closer to the edges. Not fully customizable, but it does help on the bigger screen. =o)
Thanks for that!
K... so far... (on stage 5) really enjoying it. Loads of platforming to be done, with a nice attack and upgrade system. But the only real drive to collect diamonds is to get HP. There's no scoring system, and diamonds don't add up... you get 9, collect a 10th, and the diamond number goes back to zero, and you get a heart, if you need one. You can carry up to 5 hearts...
Really wish there was a scoring system, and some GC integration. I'd love to go score chasing with this one. Achievements would also be fantastic. But since Clash Force never got GC support, I doubt it'll happen.
But that's really the only thing right now that I can say is holding Spicy Gyro's games behind within the genre.
Really, if you put the time in to making a scoring system (and one that adds multipliers for combo kills) - and add GameCenter integration with a leaderboard and some achievements, this would be perfect.
I 5-starred it because it is very worthy of that, but had a few suggestions. Some kind of achievements would be awesome, like find every blue diamond in a level, or beat level without losing a heart. Don't really care if it goes through GC or not just do add that completionist ability.
Next the story is very vague at best give us a reason to care about this poly.
Lastly, don't change the graphics one bit but please do add some parallax scrolling to the BG it would give the game so much more depth!
Great job, so awesome!
I want to like this...
I want to like this. I really do.
There's no replayability value; once you've beaten a level with its yellow gem, you have no reason ever to play it again. The yellow gem quotas for level unlocks are too low; the most expensive one is less than half the total number collectible. I've beaten the game with all 28 yellow gems, but it doesn't feel like I've accomplished anything, and I certainly didn't unlock anything.
Those are big issues, especially the first one, but otherwise I really like this game.
