Hand and Foot Score Card
By Terry Hoffman
Open iTunes to buy and download apps.
This score card was originally optimized for the specific version of Hand and Foot card game that I play with my wife and friends. Now, the score card can be fully customized to suit many versions of the game. We normally play six handed games, so, the default is to have six players. The score card can keep score for up to eight players. A set of rules for game play is presented on the Rules tab, but, an internet search will also find rules for other variations of play.
This score card also allows for playing with partners. The main difference is that only one partner needs to lay down the minimum meld, only one set of books is played per team, and a team must have two red books and two black books to go out.
It is now possible to print the scores directly to an Airprint supported printer. The scores can still be saved to the Notes app using the Copy All button in the History tab window. Open the Notes app and select paste.
The score card now allows data and settings files to be saved to computer via iTunes. The data file contains the history of the all the games which can be copied from the data file to a text file. CAUTION: DO NOT MODIFY EITHER THE SETTINGS OR DATA PLIST FILES MANUALLY. THE APPLICATION CAN CRASH IF THE FILES ARE MODIFIED.
If you have reviewed this app previously with a score lower than five due to a lack of options, please select the Settings tab and use the Rate Hand and Foot button to rate the app again after using this version which has major changes adding all the extra options. If you have further options requests, recommendations, or you have found a bug, please feel free to send me an email. Thank you and enjoy the app.
What's New in Version 2.1
A bug was found where the Player8 subtotal in non-partner mode was affected by other players' went out button due to an index being out of range. This bug is now fixed.
A bug was found where Display Players Standings caused the app to crash when Player8 was enabled in non-partner mode due to the sorted index being out of range. This bug is now fixed.
The score card now allows data and settings files to be saved to computer via iTunes.
The History tab now has a Copy All button to copy the entire history to the clipboard for pasting into other apps.
Due to the inability to test the score card using iOS prior to version 7.0, the score card now only supports IOS 7.0 and later.
Great score keeping tool
I use this app at our weekly card game. It took a while for other players to trust me to keep their scores, but now they insist I bring my IPad to the games. You can personalize the categories like points for going out. Our group changes this often so I only need to change the number in settings. The same goes for wild card books, red threes, etc. It speeds up play and is so easy to navigate. I'd highly recommend this app to any hand and foot player at all levels.
Hand & Foot Scorecard
Much easier to keep score, I'm accused of not knowing how to add on my score pad. This takes the guessing out of it!
Hand & Foot
This score card is ok, but very different from the game we play. It'll work but we have to modify it.
