History App & Shows
Great App! Whether the story line takes you out past your beliefs or that of society, it is still a good show. It opens your mind to possibilities, either way; the History Channel App is fantastic. Please keep your shows and stories coming. As for the commercials, I don't mind them being 200 or a little more. I am vested in the content, I never lose my train of thought or where it left off. Having History Channel content at my fingers tips at my own schedule is more to my liking, should I miss a show or want to watch it over and over again. No problem with content freeze, just at times I am not able to open the site content and I am a subscriber to a television cable company and I have access to this History Channel at my time, not that of the station. There is no rhyme or reason to why it won't open. Frustrating at times. When you are subscribed to a television cable company and the channel is on my paid programming I should not encounter this problem or have to fuss over why it won't open.
Could Be Better
I have a numerous amount of TV channels on my mobile devices, simply because I'm never home. I can start by saying the app is great that it's easy to use. Plus I like that it has all of its shows alphabetized. Now for the sucky part. The shows you click on never have all the episodes. All TV apps need to take a page out of the netflix playbook and have every episode, from every season, of every show. Now to show History channel that I'm a business tycoon myself and I'm a better business man than everyone that works their.
History is gonna complain about servers, content output, expediting content and moan and complain. The truth is only about the amount of money it would cost to do all of that. But they need to think long run. If you have all episodes and seasons people get more invested into a show. Then they will make an effort to get a tv provider, and watch those shows. As they are on the channel a bit prior and a bit post show, they may catch a glimpse of what those shows are,and may be even more inclined to watch those as well. Now you got one viewer watching even more shows on your network. More ads, more money,...morons,
Great Content... App needs a bit of work
I really enjoy The History Channel and have for years. I was glad to find this app so I could watch shows on my schedule (I'm already really into Alone) Now when the content is streaming, everything is cool. But at the handoff to the commercials things get a bit buggy. First the commercial breaks are too frequent to be as long as they are.i would suggest either shorter commercial breaks or fewer commercial breaks. Second the only time the App gets buggy is during the commercial breaks. Some commercials freeze or you get the same commercial three times in a row. Ill be glad to increase my rating when these issues are resolved, but the content of the shows is worth the minor aggravation with commercials. We know this can be done because other content streaming apps don't seem to have these issues. So step up History Channel, you can do this! Im rootin for ya...
