Customer Reviews

I can't believe how excited I am about this!!!

I was looking online for a virtual candle lighting experience so I could demonstrate it in doors without worrying about fires or safety. I didn't think I would find something so sophisticated, offering so many choices, and with so much information. I was pleasantly surprised to find that this app allows you to choose from a wide variety of menorahs in the museum's collection and place them in either their preloaded backgrounds or a photo of your choice. Simply select which night you're lighting for, swipe the shamash, and move from left to right lighting each candle. A button in the corner provides the blessing in English, Hebrew, and transliteration, as well as the story of Chanukah, and about menorahs. Each menorah in the collection has detailed information of it's age, place of origin, artist (if available), and design details. Menorahs featured are both Ashkenazi and Sephardi, as well as modern designs from the US and Israel.

Beautiful but

I think this is beautiful. I wish they had a bigger variety in terms of traditional and modern menorahs, but my god, the wealth of information and the diversity of designs is both beautiful and amazing.

That being said, there is at least one of the Menoras that was photographed wrong, and it is being lit wrong as well. The information provided in the app about the Richard Meier lamp states that the first light is to be light on the Egyptian obelisk and the last light on the one that resembles a watchtower from a concentration camp.

That is not the way it is photographed or light in the app. The potograph (and lighting action) are backwards. The Egyptian obelisc is placed at the outmost LEFT, thus light on the last night; contrary to the information provided by the app (and presumably the artist himself)
