Bokeh Lens will turn your iPhone photos into DSLR-quality photos with creamy and pleasing bokeh!
I love the portability of iPhone and being able to take snapshots everywhere. However, I miss the beautifully blurred background and bokeh effects that I can get using my DSLR camera. 'Bokeh Lens' for iOS will let you make the subject in your photo stand out by making the background blurred with natural-looking bokeh effects through the easy editing process.
Selecting the foreground area (area to be remaining as sharp) is the key factor to get the best possible result. The selection tool in this app was designed and developed to meet your detail-oriented editing needs. It will display a loupe (magnifying glass) when you zoom-in and try to select/deselect area. The loupe is very handy because otherwise you can't see the spot you're touching as your finger is blocking your view.
You can also adjust bokeh level (aperture) to control how much your photo's background should be bokeh-blurred.
Here are the reasons why you should get Bokeh Lens today:
- Great result with bokeh-blurred background
- Easy to use
- Awesome selection tool
- Delightful experience
Please enjoy the experience and don't hesitate to share your bokelicious photos!

Minor design tweaks in UI
Not too bad actually
I didn't have the highest of hopes for this app. Even apps with decent reviews can be a let down but this one actually worked pretty well. Masking the portion of the image that needs to remain clear of the Bokeh effect can be a little time consuming, especially if the section is complex. I find it best done with a mesh tipped stylus or a Adonit Jot stylus. Once the masking is done, the adjustments give you enough control to get an effect that is pretty good.
One thing I'd really like to see is an iPad version. It would make masking easier and I do more photo editing on my iPad as it is.
For 99¢ it's hard to go wrong but this app is worthy of downloading if you need a way to fake Bokeh with a little work.
Previously Lacked Features Now Here
You can now I'm just the feathering of the mask. You can save at high-resolution. You can adjust the amount of blur, you can edit your mask, and there is a helpful picture in picture to help you see behind your finger when making fine tuning adjustments.
This aptly titled app may only add creamy bokeh, but I'm excited to finally have this much needed feature and this app delivers impressive results. The ability to double-tap for zoomed precision and to control the feathering spread is so nice. Well done!!
