Basecamp 2 for iPhone
By Basecamp, LLC
Open iTunes to buy and download apps.
The official iPhone app for the world's #1 project management app.
For over 10 years, millions have relied on Basecamp to help them get their projects done on time, on budget, and on point. Basecamp keeps people on the same page. No matter what your role is, everyone works toward a common goal: finishing a project together.
NOTE: This app works with Basecamp 2 (released March 2012) and Basecamp Classic (released February 2004) accounts. Basecamp 3, the newest major release (October 2015) has a brand new app, tap "View More by This Developer" to get it.
What's New in Version 2.1
• Added support for universal links in iOS 9! Open Basecamp links from emails directly into the app (finally)
• iOS 9 compatibility and other bug fixes
• Changed the app's name to Basecamp 2
Producer – Julie True Soaking Music
After multiple attempts at communicating with emails, text messages, voicemails are independent record label decided to give Basecamp a try. It completely streamlined our former communication breakdowns into one awesome chokepoint funnel, giving us real-time access and situational awareness of production schedules, product questions, files, data, graphic art and music editing management. We appreciate the layout of the template and how easily it is to add new projects and to archive old ones while keeping everyone on the same digital page.
As an independent record label producer, one improvement might be to improve the ability to listen to MP3's with a more advanced MP3 player. The existing one is "OK" but for one hour long recordings, it would be great if we had a more elaborate MP3 playback player to view audio recordings on that allowed us to see minutes and seconds in order to take better track edit notes inside Basecamp.
We love Basecamp and it certainly has improved our productivity! Five gold stars and two thumbs up for Basecamp!
Booming business app!
Simply put, if you run a business that involves multiple employees working on the same projects, you're foolish if you do not utilize Basecamp. As a service-based company, we are beginning to rely so heavily on Basecamp. From time-stamped discussions and to-dos to task management with ease of use, Basecamp is a home run hit! We're less than a month into our company-wide usage (which has still cost us not a cent to this point) and I couldn't imagine not having a project management tool like this.
If you absolutely fight using this app at first, great! You should. Just as with everything that improves your life, it requires an investment of time by all users, as the app will prove useless otherwise. From the iPhone app to the iPad app and even the webpage access, our level of satisfaction is unmeasurable to this point! Nice work, Basecamp.
Wish I could use the new version
I have everything in base camp classic and couldn't do without it! Would like to be able to use some of the features the latest version provides; however, the new version does not allow you to use the same interface that our clients are used to (easy to use tabs, custom color scheme, ability to quickly post a new message).
Plus, with over 100 clients, requiring a thumbnail for each project instead of a text link with sub categories for their different businesses, isn't as convenient. The newer version is more text based and is missing the overview page showing everything across-the-board quickly for the latest changes in each project. Perhaps they could have an option in the new version for the color scheme and text based listings
