Great if you just want to listen to clips of music...
I made my selections and some were decent, based on the bpm. Others weren’t even from categories I chose (Lady Antebellum’s Bartender isn’t hip hop as far as I can tell). When I tried to fast forward I was told I exceeded skips. $80 for what is essentially a music service and I can’t skip multiple songs from artists I dislike. Other apps are free at least and have better and curated playlists. I again gave the app a try today and there was NO audio output. I did some trouble shooting and it was not an issue with my headphones or phone, I played music on other apps after force closing Spring, and when opening Spring again to restart my work out it still had no audio output. Many people talk about how motivating it is to have an appropriate beat with your music while you work out it is quite the opposite to have to stop and wait trying to figure out what is wrong with the app. Also, in none of the times I’ve used the app did the GPS work. I use other running apps that do work, and ensured I force quit Spring to see if it was just a service or phone issue, but it was just a spring issue. I regret this app doesn’t live up to the hype or it’s price tag.

The custom BPM keeps me going!
I’ve happily used Spring for several years. I like having the ability to select a walking or running pace, knowing the beats-per-minute tempo of the music selected for me, based on my interaction with the app’s playlists, will keep me moving steadily. The only thing I would change, for now, is the ability to adjust tempos on the fly within a single workout to accommodate intervals of running, walking, and jogging. Otherwise, the music library is pretty good, and the app is fairly intuitive about playing my likes and avoiding my dislikes within my genre preferences. Customer support is VERY personal and responsive, too. I don’t use the GPS or stats, because I run other training apps concurrently that I like better. But as far as I know, Spring works fine as an all-inclusive fitness app for road warriors. Overall, an invaluable tool in my workout box. Good work, dev team!
The help you need when unmotivated
You know that feeling like you’re slogging thru heavy mud just ready to give up on the road n / jog/ walk on the elliptical? Me too. If not for Spring to help me out with this amazing application. Pick the genres you like, select the pace you want and let Spring put together fresh music every single time you work out. I am just telling you that this app has saved me countless times from giving up on the workout when, it feeds in an upbeat, motivating song and before I know it, I am running at 145 heart rate, completely forgetting about giving up.
GET THIS APP! It is so worth it.
Note that each exercise music tempo takes a few attempts to get it tuned to your personal preference. Enjoy this thing. Its amazing.
