Not the best in the trilogy, but still great.
I've played all three Infinity Blade titles, and all are amazing in terms of graphics and plot line. However, I felt that the IB3 game play was much more difficult than the first 2 games, and at many points it honestly felt like the developer made it so hard that many people would think the only way to progress through the game would be to purchase in game currency for real money. I understand that developers need to make money, but I can't stand feeling like I have to spend money to play a game I already paid $7 for. I also felt that the game play in IB3 is overly complicated with the skill points unlocking various abilities as opposed to directly increasing player stats as in the first 2 games. I also kept noticing that it wouldn't let me open treasure chests or pick up in game currency if my gem bag was full. That was annoying, but it may be a glitch. However, despite these annoyances, the plot line of the game was superb, the graphics were beautiful, and I had a great time playing it.
Wanted to wait to write until I beat all three games and I must say, amazing. All three titles share the same style, fight mechanics, loot system and secrets but in my opinion progressively become more in depth upon reaching the next title in the series. One thing that I found to be very well done is the games learning curve. The first is all about racking up combos defeating the enemy and making it to the end only to rinse and repeat. A great bookmark leading to the second title in which playing through reveals different paths, secret bosses, hidden loot, etc. And finally having betaken the last game in the series I felt that the creators took into account their fan base having played the prior two games and upped the games difficulty, more secrets, the added second character and fighting styles, and random encounters, making it that much more enjoyable. A final note, didn’t have to spend an extra dime. Simple grinding helps alleviate tough battles. Good work
An Epic End to an Epic Trilogy
I’ll start with the bad...
As far as gameplay is concerned: this was not the best in the series in my opinion. With the two characters all the different gems and the blacksmith, I got a little tired of having to upgrade gear and keep gems well distributed between the gear of both characters. Not totally downing the system, but it annoyed me eventually.
That said, I can not argue with the visuals(not PC/console level, but impressive for a mobile game) and the classic Infinity Blade gameplay style. The different controls for each weapon class/character makes it even better(yes I realize this was introduced in IB2, but I felt it was really done here).
The story in this was EPIC as well. It has a very interesting science-fiction/medieval feel that was captured in the first infinity blade. It explained some things from the previous games and immensely built on the characters. Top it all off with some solid voice acting and a song from “Imagine Dragons”.
I would honestly recommend this game to anyone who enjoys A&A games, whether they have played the previous ones or not. The previous two were just vague enough that you can play this one without loosing much; but it still builds off the previous ones for fans to appreciate.
Impressive cinemática and story telling
Exciting, original game play
And an epic game series on the whole!
